The University Cafe

Came for coffee and the legendary ice cream, famous flake 99. Was surprised seeing it's called flake ice cream, as the price was 3x99. Coffee very very pricey too, 1.90 whereas prices for a very good coffee start from 1.40. Shocked, but thought would pay if it's good. Unfortunately it was not. Very not. The flake in the ice cream, thought it was made of plastic. Jaw dropping. Very friendly lady behind the counter, nice interior, bringing back the spirit of the good auld times, interesting toilet facility :) and the ice cream, second best in my life, but please, do something with this chocolate-like flake!

This place is an institution, it's known by everyone in west end, their ice-cream is amazing, from what I can remember as a kid.

Good old fashioned wholesome Glasgow food! Great early 20th century decor. Popular with all ages. A Glasgow treasure!

Scotland's best food place! Must visit for any one in Glasgow. Traditional cafe with traditional food, feel and service. You can't come to Scotland and not have haggis, neeps & tatties and this is the place to have it!

Nice little place with a lot of history, the owner said that he's the 3rd generation in the family to run the business. The portions can be a bit small but over all good service and decent food.

An unexpected throwback (in a lovely way!) to another era! Fabulous coffee, the best apple pie and great ice cream, in an almost museum- like setting! Fab!
