FISHING - The Yair beat consists of 3 miles of right bank fishing bordering Peel to the top, approximately 300 yards above Ashiestiel Bridge, and Sunderland Hall to the bottom. Situated on a very attractive private estate, the beat offers a wide variety of fishing and boasts some spectacular scenery. There are more than 16 named pools, of which most are easily accessible, and these are divided to allow fishing for 7 rods. Rods are let from the second last full week of September through to the end of November.

Looking forward to watching the first episode of "The River" this evening, a new documentary series focusing on The River Tweed and the people who live and work alongside it. BBC 1 Scotland @ 7.30pm. If you can't watch it tonight then there is always iplayer.
