About Thebes (The Blackburn Egyptology Society)

THEBES: The Blackburn Egyptology Society

Thebes (The Blackburn Egyptology Society) Description

The Blackburn Egyptology Society (Thebes) is a young Egyptology society which meets on a monthly basis from September to May, with a January break.

Meetings take place on the first Monday of each month (unless it clashes with a Bank Holiday and then we meet on the Tuesday), in the Hornby Lecture Theatre, which is located on the first floor of Blackburn Library, and begin at 7. 45pm (doors open 7. 15pm).

Entry only £4.

As an open and welcoming society our meetings will provide an opportunity for you to share your interest in Ancient Egypt, and make friends with like-minded people, as well as offering you the chance to learn a little (or even a lot) more about this fascinating subject.

We have an exciting and diverse programme of lectures, including talks from professional Egyptologists and post-graduates. As a friendly and inclusive society we are approachable and open to suggestions so please feel free to get involved.

So, whatever your age or level of interest why not come along and see what Thebes can offer you?

For further information on any aspect of the society or for information about meetings please e-mail thebes2011@yahoo. co. uk.
