Really nice to get 4 of our TT horses out to Opening meet on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and a Fantastic turn out. Lovely to see so many people supporting the Jed-Forest and thank you to everyone involved. I started on the lovely Percy and then brought out the equally lovely Cruise as second horse. Taylor was lucky enough not to need a second horse as her super cob was still full of running right to the bitter end. So Issac came out on Ellie (who was to be Taylor’s secon...d horse) To cheer him after he had such a fright from crashing his car. Love my team and enjoying hunting in the off season from eventing. It’s really educating the babies and Cruise and Ellie are proving to be fab hunters and are for sale. However she is SAFE and FUN for a competent rider and is looking for a rider who can bring out her potential as she moves to die for and as stated above has a lot of scope. Before she came to us she hadn’t jumped much but has now been out SJ and cross country schooled 3x before jumping round her first cross country at Kimmerston and jumped all the A’s. She can still be green with new filers and jumps due to her lack of experience but is improving all the time and has a lot of potential. Hacks out alone or in company and is good in traffic. Loves being bathed etc and loves attention.

So happy with my two lovely boys both finishing just outside the top 10 in the CIC 1* at Alnwick Ford Equestrian International Horse Trials. A couple of mistakes In the dressage on Friday but on the whole I was happy with both of them and an uncharacteristic pole for Jelly on Saturday but he followed up with a clear xc and a couple time penalties to finish 13th so happy with him as we are still Getting to know each other and this was our first 1* together. Chinook jumped dou...ble clear inside the time and felt amazing xc as always but (due to his spooking in the dressage on the Friday) finished just behind his stable mate for 14th place. Thrilled with both of them.
Then it was a trip back to Alnwick on Sunday with Taylor And Waterloo Tim who both made their eventing debut. Taylor rode Tim beautifully, he isn’t the easiest as we think he has had a troubled past before he came to us, a few things to work on in their dressage but he sailed around the xc so showed great promise for next season. Well done to Taylor.
Thank you very much to my amazing owners for allowing me to ride and compete these two gorgeous and very talented horses. I just love the bones of both of them.

Roll on tomorrow 👌

A fab 2nd place for Jelly today in the 105 at Frenchfield. Just love this horse, had such a fun day even with the heavy rain falling whilst we were doing our test, I think jelly wanted to show the judge how happy he was to be there despite the weather with a leap of joy into canter which lost us a couple of marks but he then followed up with a lovely double clear with a couple of time faults to add, due to the slippy conditions. Thank you to Sarah Brownlie for allowing me to... compete this gorgeous and very talented horse and thank you mum and Taylor for all your help today in the rain. Sadly Stevie Purves Photography wasn’t with us today but hopefully will be with us at our next event. Giving my new Topstocks stock another outing today. 👌

I don’t quite know how to put my week at Blair into words other than to say I just LOVED every minute!!!
Tonto coped with the atmosphere incredibly well and loved being at a big party. He produced what I thought was a lovely test and a very classy clear xc but sadly found the sj too small (as did a fair few others) and as a result had a silly pole which knocked him down the leader board. Still so happy with this young horses attitude.
Then it was Chinooks turn in the CCI 1*... He performed a really good test, sadly is too clever for his own good and added two flying changes in both counter canters which was quite costly but I really dont mind at all because he still felt great for the rest of the test and I know I can work on that for next time. He jumped an awesome double clear inside the time and just felt incredible cross country. To finish on my dressage score at my first international competition is a dream come true.
Chinook tried his socks off for me and I am so so grateful to him! I literally adore him and I am in awe of how intelligent this horse is and also how big his heart is.
I want to say a HUGE MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who helped me make my dream a reality! Especially to my mum who has been my biggest supporter and I would not be where I am without her unconditional help and support, to my whole team, owners, sponsors and to everyone who has supported me and wished me luck.
As some of you know we lost dear Basil leading up to Blair which was a huge shock and I was truly devastated a distraught at his loss. A session with Sophie Douglas Hypnotherapy before leaving helped me to clear my head and focus my mind I hope I have done him proud.
Thank you to Karen and Colin allowing us to borrow your luxurious lorry for the week, we couldn’t have done it without it. Huge team effort to make our week amazing.

And we are off... Blair here we come.
No matter what happens I am going to enjoy the experience and no doubt learn a lot. I just want to take the time to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point.
After a run of bad luck over the past few years and talented ones having injuries leaving them unable to event etc which left me heartbroken and was also never really reaching my goals. I was then lucky enough to gain the support of my good friends (Anita, Sheila, Carol ...along with mum and I) who joined together to create a syndicate and not long after we found Tartan Chill and I am so lucky to have such a talented horse to compete and be taking to Blair for my first CCI 1* Also joining us on our trip is Ballyrobin Quiet Boy who is owned by Michelle and Mia Stewart this lovely young horse is heading for the BE 90 Championship, so lucky this horse found us. So good to have lovely young horses following on.
Huge thank you to my team for all of their hard work and dedication over the last few months and especially mum and Taylor for picking up the pieces when I have been struggling with my health and of course I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mum who helps and supports me bound belief. My daughters horse went to Katie's for 3 weeks while she was away on holiday. Katie jumped, schooled and hacked her in the surrounding hills. When we picked her up she was certainly fitter but also relaxed and happy.

The yard was kept to a very high standard and the horses were imaculate. Katie also kept us well informed with how the horse was and sent photos, which was brilliant.

I would certainly recommend Thistle Thoroughbreds.

Katie took my boy in as I didn't know if jumping was his thing due to an on going issue and myself and my horse had a bit of a relationship breakdown. The change in donney was awesome he is a lot more confident jumping and could really feel a difference with his schooling. Highly recommend Katie. And she has been really supportive afterwords aswell.

Katie schooled and jumped my horse and helped me with my riding. The yard was always tidy and horses seemed very content with no hussle and busle. Katie is very knowledgeable despite her age and has a great attitude towards young, green horses. She got my ex racehorse working in an outline and jumping and gave good advice in a kind and approachable manner. Highly recommended for lessons and bringing young horses on.

Katie looked after my horse when I was on holiday for two weeks, to help bring him back into work. Freddie was extremely well looked after, he's not a fan of stables so she had him in a bigger sectioned off part of a shed where he could see other horses. The stables at Katie's yard are lovely, kept very tidy. The difference in my horse when I got him back was amazing, his coat was super shiny and his behaviour had definitely improved. Would recommend Katie to anybody needing help with there horse, she is amazing!

Katie looked after my horse for a month whilst I was in Australia. I was told by a previous owner that he liked being in a field by himself which Katie was happy to accommodate. The yard was impeccably well kept and organised. She gave me regular updates when I was away allowing me to enjoy my holiday knowing my horse had settled in well! She re-introduced him to jumping after an injury and also done some schooling even though he finds this difficult being an ex-pacer! When it came to returning him home he seemed happy, relaxed and had been well cared for. Would highly recommend Katie for livery or for schooling your horse. She is friendly, helpful and done the added touch of returning my tack cleaned!

Katie has such great knowledge and experience with horses, not only that she is very friendly and approachable. She treats the horses with the upmost respect and kindness and I would recommend anyone who is looking to have their horse retrained to do it with her. Her stables are extremely modern and clean. Can’t recommend her enough. Romeo came home looking fantastic and had been very well cared for.

Katie has helped me with my horses at various points over the last few years. She’s very capable and pays great attention to detail. Her standard of turnout is first rate and horses in her care always look immaculate.I have no hesitation in recommending Katie if you’re looking for a professional livery or schooling service for your equine friends.

I was really pleased with Voddis progress while she was with Katie and I noticed a big difference in her when I got her back. I would highly recommend Katie if you have a young horse you want brought on. ��

I asked Katie to take my young horse for 2 months schooling and education. Katie schooled Voddi and brought on her flat work and jumping, by the end she looked really smart on the flat and was jumping well. Katie also educated her on the hunting field and Since taking her back I have had a lot of fun at the common ridings and festivals this summer and look forward to a few days hunting on her over the winter. I was really pleased with Voddis progress while she was with Katie and I noticed a big difference in her when I got her back. I would highly recommend Katie if you have a young horse you want brought on. ��
