Just a quick pint on a Saturday afternoon but as always, well run traditional pub, with properly trained staff and a great pint - Landlord on this occasion.



Must make time to get in for the legendary steak pie at lunchtime.

Would be so much better if they removed the return trays.

Nice staff, small and cozy bar in West end of Edinburgh

Just returned home from a fabulous day out at the fringe in Edinburgh. Sadly, after enjoying a wonderful show we frequented Thomson's bar, only to be denied a drink from the bar. Without question my mother in law was denied service, she was hastily dismissed in a rude and upsetting manner, prompting those close by to leave the bar due to the lack of decency and respect ..... It really was poor form and it was a great disappointment at the end of such a memorable day..... We won't be back and will be sharing our upsetting experience far and wide ....... — with Gillian Watson and John Watson.
