Thornhill Players Description

From humble beginnings using the stage in the Church Hall with one window frame, a table and a chair, where the only way to get from one side of the stage to the other was out the main door, into a field and through a small window in a side room, the club has progressed in leaps and bounds over the 46 years it has been in existence.
During this time it has staged over 60 plays, 14 pantomimes, 6 revues and 2 murder mystery dinners, as well as several children’s productions. One of the highlights was a member of the cast being pushed through the audience sitting on a toilet!
Membership comprises of not just villagers, but also from other villages and towns. We have entered the SCDA festival of one act plays on several occasions and have been successful twice at district level. Our current productions (as we are all now a lot older) seem to have a lot of graveyards or old people in them!
