Building a fence? We can supply the materials or if you prefer we can do the whole job from start to finish.

Passed this one the other day. It looks a bit weather beaten now but considering it's our very first fence from 2003, she's doing fine, still straight and rock solid, good for another 15 years.

There's a popular myth that fences mark the boundary. This is not true. Fences can be placed on the boundary, but they can also be placed off the boundary.
Sometimes folk take down an old fence and don't want to dig out the old post footings so move it this way or that way a bit. If that has happened 5 or 10 times then the fence could be very far from the boundary. House builders can and do get it wrong sometimes too. (We've seen some howlers!)
Title deeds mark bounda...ries and you can check yours to see if your fences are indeed on the boundary lines. It might not matter to you now, but when you want to put up an extension or a garage and the planners insist on a full metre of clearance to the boundary, then it will matter a lot.
Registers of Scotland hold all deeds and they can be viewed and copied for you there. You or your solicitor may also hold a copy. If your title is old, and doesn't have a plan drawing, the registrars can produce a plan with the red boundary lines, from the written title description and the corresponding titles surrounding yours.
You should also discuss it with your neighbours and mutually agree on any changes. That can be tricky sometimes, but if the worst comes to the worst, a solicitor can intervene and instruct a chartered surveyor to mark the legal boundary line for you.
Thanks for visiting. Feel free to share this page with anyone you know with a boundary issue.

Digging to depth is hazardous. Electric cables are not always where the drawings say they are. We have seen utilities just 30cm under the soil. There are cheap all metal spades out there, but it would be like flying a kite in a lightening storm. Don't do it. Use an insulated spade, wear rubber work gloves and safety glasses. Shorting out 240 volts in a hole will send soil and stones into your face, just before you hear the very loud bang.

Tom replaced my storm damaged fence. Did an amazing job all by himself, even sorted around added problem drains and tree stump, without issue. will not hesitate to contact him again if required. also recommended to neighbours who have commented on job well done. Thanks again Tom.
