Informative and well laid out

An excellent and interesting museum of local communities. It has a phone app to enable the exploring of the Kildonan strath which was cleared of people and farms to make way for sheep. The museum gives a voice to the people displaced by the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland in the 1800s.

Beautiful location in the wee village of Helmsdale. An award winning museum. We went as part of a classic car tour. The small cafe {20 ish seats} was well prepared for us all arriving together. They set up a tables outside and provided endless tea, coffee and cakes. Service was professional and efficient. Staff were calm and friendly
I've been to the museum a couple of times. Highly recommend it for young folk and adults. It's very immersing. Go!
