No bigger compliment from a three year old than 'my tummy was liking that' at dinner time!!! 😃

Hello everyone, Tiny Tastes has been a little quiet recently but we've not gone away! My family and I have spent the last couple of months relocating to my home area of Gloucestershire and I'm happy to say we are now quite settled with a lovely big fridge/freezer to start filling up with plenty of batch cooking. Please bear with me and I'll get up to date with some new recipes and ideas for you all over the next couple of weeks!

With Halloween coming up I thought I'd post up a recipe for you to make use of the insides of all your hollowed out pumpkins! 🎃 Pumpkin and apple soup with a little bit of spice to get your little ones used to a few mild herbs & spices:
1 tbsp olive oil The insides of one large pumpkin - diced... 2 apples, peeled, cored & chopped 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp ginger 1 low salt stock pot or cube Pinch of parsley & pepper
In a pan with the oil cook the onion until nice and soft. Add the pumpkin, apple, herbs & spices plus 1 litre of water mixed with your stock cube. Bring to the boil and then simmer for 25 minutes or until the pumpkin and apples are soft. Add a little ground pepper. Purée using a blender until the soup is smooth.
Everyone in the family will enjoy this delicious warming soup on a cold Halloween night!

Aldi UK baby event started yesterday! It's normally great for picking up weaning essentials such as bowls, cutlery sets & big boxes of wipes!

I'm not sure where the tradition of having fish on Friday comes from but I've always stuck to it, so it's normally fish pie, fish cakes, fish fingers or tuna pasta (either with a creamy or a tomato based sauce) for us! Fish pie tonight, just need to add some layers of hard boiled egg slices & cheesy mash, yum!

Coming soon!! I'm excited to announce I will soon be starting a weekly food planning post starting from first tastes right through to establishing your baby on regular meals and milk feeds. Please tag a friend who is about to start weaning or share this page with anyone who may benefit from this!

Little helper helping me load the printer before I print out class handouts for tomorrow. If you're booked onto a class as well as your class handouts and recipe sheets you'll get samples during class and to take away with you to pop in the freezer if you're not quite at the weaning stage yet.

Granny had some French stick loaves that were a couple of days old, instead of throwing them out we've made them into tasty pizza baguettes for dinner using a smear of hidden veg tomato sauce and grated cheese. Plenty of extra veg can also be added on the top. Once baked these can be sliced into easy to pick up finger sized pieces.

Macaroni cheese is a real favourite of ours. Mix some broccoli and cauliflower through to get some extra veg into a meal.

Back from a visit to family in England and our first stop after unpacking is a checkup at the dentist for both of us. The NHS recommend taking your child to the dentist when their first milk teeth appear. This is so they become familiar with the environment and get to know the dentist. The dentist can help prevent decay and identify any oral health problems at an early stage. Just opening up their mouth for the dentist to take a look at is useful practise for the future. On our first visit we just took along our toothbrush and paste and made it as relaxed and fun as possible.

Is anyone having a Sunday roast? What's your favourite?
