I don't know if you care about Brexit, Trump or BG corrupted politics but everyone should certainly care about Climate change. We are all causing on a daily basis irreversible damage and dooming the next generation and probably ourselves to deal with the crisis not some distant time in the future but in the next 15-20 years ! So appeal to all my friends - if you love yourself and your children please stop , think twice and move away for the consumer type of lifestyle that we ...have all been convinced is supposed to make us feel better and happier.
My appeal is not recycle , but to refuse and reuse and shop responsibly . Here is what I mean:
1- Straws - just forget they exist you don't need them 2. Nappies and lady sanitary products- Please forget that brands like Pampers and Always exists- there are full of chemicals and also stay in refuse forever ! Think about the damage you are doing with one baby and 7 nappies a day for at least a year! There are some perfect sustainable produced biodegradable products all you need to do is go on amazon and find them. You can also buy reusable products such as Duchess cup for you ladies and nappies with inserts that can be rewashed and reused 3. Useless household products such as fabric softeners, additional freshener, air fresheners( plastic and containers like fabreeze ) , dish polisher ect. - You simply do not need them at all. They are not essential .Your home and clothes will be just as fine when it is just clean 4. Washing your clothes too much - There is no need to wash your clothes after every wear unless they are actually dirty . Think that every time you use your washing machine parts of the fabrics shred and it wears out quicker , hence you reduce its life but also it pollutes our rivers and oceans 5. handsoaps ect - stick to bars and stay away from too strong scents. This will safe enormous about of plastic 6. Christmas wrapping and gifts- Christmas should not be about what you buy but about spending time with your family and also believe it or not it is supposed to have something to do with the birth of Christ! There is no need of tons of cosmetics in fancy excessive packaging such as fancy plastic and metal boxes and containers and of course tons of excess wrapping paper on top! Also, there is no need to buy your child 20 plastic toys that in a few month he/she will not remember exist . MY advice is stick to one present in total and focus on cooking together, spend a day out, sign carols and maybe take some time to reflect and be grateful for what you have. This is what a family holiday should be about not shopping and stockings stuffed with chocolate (on the dawn of diabetes crisis !)
I have a lot more advice but I won't bore you any more. I have made the change and I keep trying to change further every single day . I do it for myself and my family ! Also, you know what -when you get the hang of it you safe a fortune. Now it is your turn
