Town Rock Energy designs and facilitates district heating networks that use mine-water or aquifer geothermal resources for heat supply.

Townrock Energy is Scotland's first deep geothermal energy company. Our mission is to access the abundant geothermal energy of Scotland's deep geology, to provide zero-carbon, 24 hour renewable heat to industrial, commercial and domestic energy users.

Our objective is to facilitate a deep geothermal pilot project to demonstrate the economic feasibility of geothermal energy in Scotland.

Our process applies hydrocarbon exploration techniques to evaluate deep geothermal resources. We are currently evaluating Hot Sedimentary Aquifers and flooded mines in the Midland Valley of Scotland, and wider UK. We are also establishing a geothermal specific laboratory which will be used to create a thermal conductivity database for Scotland. These processes and laboratory tools have global application.
