Motherhood - yesterday I was ‘available’ and answer to my kids for a full 15 hour shift in addition to being up still feeding my wee man overnight. I reckon I’m currently ‘working’ 105 hours per week.... equivalent to 3 full time jobs.... this is no exaggeration.... on broken sleep..... It’s something no one tells you about how long some days are with very little to no downtime... I’m so grateful that I’ve got so much insight and can understand fully why it’s so hard at times... and being able to be super gentle to myself and accepting.
A big shout out to all mothers and fathers out there - the juggle is real 😂👏💕🙏🤱🙈
Have a good week all 😘😂

I came across this book, #theuntetheredsoul, and wow.... the world would be a much happier place if we all read it. I need to read it again and again as it’s so full of really profound insights. It really helps you to understand how much drama we make up in our heads and hearts and how we have the choice to open ourselves up to a completely different existence. I can see how I will intertwine it with my own EFT practice.
Has anyone else read it?

Visualisation is such a powerful tool to use. I often incorporate it into EFT for use going forward especially around fertility treatment and birth but can be used for any big upcoming events.
Is this something you do or have thought about?

Please sign and share this petition. This has been something I’ve been appalled at - the worst thing in my opinion there is NO RESEARCH into this. If white women were 5 times more likely to do and their babies twice as likely to die... money would be thrown at this. Systemic racism must end as women and their babies are DYING. Follow my mentor Doula Mars Lord to educate yourself on this.... #enough

Birth & Perinatal Trauma Testimonial
"I came to Tricia after a very complicated delivery and birth of my baby. He was an IVF baby who was born through emergency c section due to preeclampsia and he was 8 weeks premature spending the first 3 weeks of his life in the neonatal unit. It was a lot to process having several weeks go by where I couldn't think about his birth without crying. There was a lot of triggers for me and there were many things that I got upset about. I went ...to Tricia after hearing about her trauma therapy. It was lovely to just be listened to as I spoke through our entire ordeal before moving onto the rewind technique which I found very relaxing and effective. I am no longer tied up with unwanted negative emotions about my baby’s birth or his first weeks of life. Instead looking back with pride of how well my baby and I did to be together." KG
I love the work I do because of the massive impact it has with the parents I work with. Being skilled to significantly improve the life of a mother or father to this extent is so rewarding and I’ve loved having the skills to do this.
I’m thrilled to now be offering @traumatic_birth_recovery training in Scotland in October. Details are on my website www.triciamurray.co.uk.

It’s NOT just birth trauma.... as Birth Trauma Awareness week comes to a close... let’s remember that it’s not just birth that can leave us traumatised.
Experiences such as a stay in the neonatal unit, breastfeeding, miscarriage, IVF treatment, terminations, postnatal period (a colicky baby), an illness (including a mental health illness, sepsis) or physical injury can all leave us with feeling traumatised.
Help is out there and you can make that choice to start feeling bette...r.

Would highly recommend watching this to understand more about why EFT is becoming more mainstream and how it compares to traditional approaches.

This is Birth Trauma Awareness week. It is estimated in the uk that up to 30,000 a year experience a traumatic birth which can develop into PTSD.
However, there are so many parents who maybe didn’t feel that they had a ‘traumatic’ birth who still need support around their birth experience.
I’ve worked with couples who have approached me as their doula who had no idea of the impact that their birth had on them and could have probably done with space to discuss their birth ex...perience. I sometimes worry about the emphasis we put on the trauma part with so many families falling through the gaps.
Their is a danger at times that many parents who need support slip through the net of getting it because they maybe don’t feel they fit into the PTSD/trauma box.
My feelings are that there can often be too much emphasis on PTSD and that so many more families would benefit from support to talk through their birth.
I’m also concerned about the diagnosing of PTSD and who is doing this. I’m aware that more needs to be done to educate HCP on the difference between the perinatal mental health diagnosis but equally in my opinion anyone who is diagnosing should be qualified to do so.
Labels can be dangerous and so easily thrown about - where the emphasis is so focussed on labels do we then stop treating people as individuals and their individual needs and focus too much on the label. Can labels cause more harm than good? And can a label be traumatic in itself? Can clutching to a label impact our identity? Is it important to parents that we fit into a specific criteria before we get help?

This was exactly why birth post birth trauma became something I wanted to support but also birth trauma prevention.

EFT/Tapping is a really helpful tool to use when uncomfortable feelings/emotions arise. I often this in conjunction with #tbr3steprewind when working with perinatal trauma.
It works by tapping on various places around or head, faces and bodies as we say a specific statement. The tapping elicits a calm response in our body which we start to connect with the issue.
Here’s some statements for some of the common issues you can try and I’m happy to send you some intro videos if ...you message me. If there’s enough of you interested I can put together a video library once the school holidays are over that you can access.
▪️Even though my birth didn’t go the way I wanted, I accept I did my best and I love my baby
▪️Even though I can’t hear any birth stories, I accept how I feel and I’m ok
▪️Even though I’m struggling with sex after my baby’s birth, I accept how I feel and when I’m ready I’ll work on it
▪️Even though I’m angry at the care I got, I accept all my feelings and right now, I’m ok
▪️Even though I feel shamed/guilty/embarrassed by my birth, I did my best and right now I am ok
▪️Even though I can’t even think about my birth, I accept that’s a normal feeling and I accept myself
▪️Even though I know someone who had a ‘worse’ birth, I accept I’m struggling with my own feelings and I accept myself
▪️Even though I’m annoyed my partner didn’t help, I accept they did their best and I accept how I feel
What’s important with EFT is recognising how you’re feeling, working on the detail, and tapping on the points correctly.
Some of this is BIG and you might need support to really navigate it but EFT can certainly help to reduce some of those big intense feelings you may have.
Much love, Tricia xx

This is brilliant and considering the increasing evidence base for Eft we are going to see more institutions adding eft to their curriculum.
