Getting your protein on doesn’t always mean using protein powder to make sweet stuff.
I use the unflavoured to make savoury sauces.
Tonight it’s smoked Salmon, crayfish tail pasta with a tarragon sauce.Using Konjak spaghetti means no extra carbs too.

💁🏽💻If you work at a desk, especially in front of a computer, you already know it’s super important to take regular breaks to get up and move, stretch, etc.
Another important thing to do is check how your chair, desk and computer are set up – do you have to crank your head forward to see your screen, hunching down and putting lots of pressure on your neck? Or do you have to lean in?
Take a few minutes to check out your workstation and make some adjustments to make sure it’s not working against you!

Is it possible to make pesto without cheese? The answer is YES: The trick is to use nutritional yeast flakes, which lend a bit of “umami” flavor. You can find it in most grocery stores as well as natural food stores.
This recipe can be customized to your taste: try using cashews, pistachios or pine nuts. We chose walnuts because of their high omega 3 content.
This is great stirred into veggies or as a condiment over your favorite protein.
... Paleo Pesto Sauce
1 cup raw walnuts, shelled (not roasted) 3 cups fresh basil leaves 2 cups baby spinach leaves 4 cloves garlic Zest and juice from 1 large lemon 2/3 cup olive oil (you also could use a light nut oil like walnut or macadamia) 3/4 tsp sea salt 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
Place all ingredients in a food processor or high speed blender and blend until well combined.
Store in an airtight glass jar in the refrigerator.

Mobility Challenge: Open Up Those Wings!
This week I have an important challenge that’ll help you feel SO MUCH BETTER now and into the future! It will help improve your posture, relieve pain and even help improve your breathing.
We’re going to make time to stretch out our chest and shoulder muscles. Because of our modern lifestyle pretty much EVERYONE needs to do this – especially anyone who spends time in front of a computer, at a desk, or using their cell phones/devices.
... Here are three stretches you can do that will take very little time while making a big impact on opening up those muscles!
Note: Make sure to maintain good posture and also keep your core engaged while you’re doing these stretches. Hold each stretch for 30 seconds before switching sides.
💪Standing Chest Stretch: Stand next to a doorway, with elbow bent at a 90-degree angle. Place your elbow against the door jamb, and gently press your shoulder forward to help open up your chest and shoulder muscles.
💪Lying Chest Stretch: Place a foam roller or several rolled-up towels on the floor. Lie on your back on the roll so that it is aligned along your spine/back. Gently extend your arms out from your shoulders, palms facing up, feeling a stretch through your arms, shoulders and chest. Be sure to keep your back against the roll and your chin slightly tucked.
💪Seated or Standing Shoulder Stretch: With your belly braced, reach your right arm up and overhead before bending our elbow to extend your hand behind your back. Reach around with your left arm to try to grab your right hand. If you can’t reach it, use a towel or strap.
Are you in for doing at least 3-5 minutes of chest and shoulder stretches EVERY DAY this week!?
Let us know in a comment below! Also be sure let us know how you feel before and afterwards!

☀️⏰😋One tip to make intermittent fasting seem less daunting, is to start with a shorter period of time, and then gradually increase it. For instance, start by fasting for 12 hours. Then, 13 hours. Continue until you easily reach your target time period.

I’ll be there doing it and cheering on THC family members! Let me know if you’re up for the challenge!

Nutrition Challenge: Intermittent Fasting
Don’t get intimidated by this one just yet! We all naturally fast – or take a break from eating – for at least 8 hours a day. It’s when we’re asleep!
But over the past few years, taking a longer break has been gaining popularity to not only help people lose weight, but improve overall health.
... It’s also pretty popular in Hollywood these days- as people like Hugh Jackman, Beyonce, and Jennifer Lopez swear by it.
Whether you call it “intermittent fasting” (aka IF) or “early time-restricted feeding,” it involves intentionally taking a “break” from eating for anywhere from 12 to 16 hours a day.
IF has been shown to: 🔥Lower Insulin Levels 🔥Enhance Recovery & Reduce Inflammation 🔥Boost your metabolism 🔥Increase Fat Burning, 🔥Help with Cellular Regeneration
Also, it stands to reason that if you’re eating for fewer hours a day, there’s a good chance you’re eating less overall, helping to lose weight if that’s a goal.
Pretty impressive huh?
Are you up for trying IF this week?
Let’s try it for TWO days. You pick the days. Let’s have our last meal before 7 p.m. and eat our first meal at 11 a.m. the next day. Are you going to join us? I hope so!

🌱🌿🐔Eggshells make great natural seed-starting pots, and are a perfect idea to help with this week’s challenge! Preparing them requires a little finesse but it will save you some money AND give your little herb seeds a great place to grow!
🍳Next time you cook eggs, instead of cracking them open, slice off their tops using a sharp life. Remove the white and yolk and rinse out the shell for use later.
When you’re ready to plant, poke some small drainage holes at the bottom of the shell, mist it with water, and then add your soil mix before planting. When the plants are eventually ready to be transplanted outside or to bigger pots, crush the shells so the roots have a chance to expand.

Hump Day Hunger: A classic recipe gets a new twist with some superfood goji berries!
Baked Rosemary-Lemon Chicken Breasts (Serves 4)
... 2 tbsp avocado oil 4 chicken breasts 2 cups cubed sweet potatoes 1 red onion, sliced thin Juice of 1 large lemon 2 tbsp rosemary 1 tsp each marjoram and thyme 6 minced garlic cloves ½ cup goji berries 1 large lemon, sliced Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
In a small bowl, mix the lemon, rosemary, thyme, marjoram and minced garlic.
Heat the oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper and then place in skillet, along with the sweet potato cubes and onion slices. Cook until the chicken breast is brown, about 5 minutes.
Flip chicken over, stir in the goji berries and pour the lemon mixture over the skillet contents. Top with the lemon slices and bake for 30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. Serve and enjoy!
