Turnberry Holiday Park

Great place to chill out small club and pool for kids and near some great beaches

Booked this as part of a sun holiday so expected a haven or park holidays type set up. It couldn't have been further from that. Rows upon rows of caravans all quite close. The basic shop was so basic I couldn't even buy bread!! And closed 1.5 hours earlier than we were advised it was open to allow us to check in. We were heavily encouraged to pay for entertainment passes. That there would be children's activities and family entertainment in a club house/ bar. The only room was a cafe one side that merged into a bar area the other. No children's club. No bike hire. Only entertainment was on for couple hours on one night mid week.

In the caravan... the floors were dirty. The tv had very few channels and there was no DVD player or radio. I had paid twice for an upgrade. The bathroom sink had a huge crack in it. Very few kitchen utensils and every morning I woke up with my bedding wet along the outsidewall side of the bed.

The website mentioned the beach was a short walk. I think it was a good mile or two along a farm lane that served the caravan park so cars constantly going up and down with no where for you to stand other than in the hedge. Then you still have to cross the main road that has lots of traffic and lorries is busses etc along it all the time before walking another few hundred yards to get to a small beach. I took one look and decided we weren't going to that bit of beach!! There was also no area for children to play and no park area for them to play in. We finally got the information about the swimming pool the day before we left. But you have to book as a family and you only allowed an hour. No lone swimming as they don't employ a life guard.

Would I recommend it. If all you want is a bed. And no entertainment. You not taking children and you will be out everyday then why not. If you looking for somewhere to have a family holiday I can think of much much better places.

Will I go back. Not a chance.

No facalitìes for children pub food is definatley bad to salty and to spicy for kids pool water was cloudy waited all wk to book it as it was only one family allowed in pool at a time got it booked for Thursday and was then told it was busy so double booked and another family would be in with us joke family intertainment was 1 guy doing Bingo kids club was put some music on and got hula hoops out my 12 year old was not impressed my disabled child wanted to come hope all wk as there was nothing to do washing machines didn't work cash machine didnt work worst holiday ever

just back from a lovely weekend at the holiday park. staff and residents were lovely and really friendly. the only thing we noticed was that there was maybe a lack of facility's for children. a small park at the rear of the club is maybe insufficient. its a great park with a nice atmosphere but i would think twice about taking our grandchildren as there are plenty parks with more facility's.

We have just returned home from a 7 night stay here. We are a family of 7 and have spent the last few years holidaying at caravan parks. This has been the best site we have stayed at. The caravan was clean and like new. There was plenty of space for us all too. The park itself was perfect for children, they could run around, ride their bikes and go to the playpark. The site is not too big so no overcrowding and peaceful in the evenings. We especially liked the fact that you have to book the pool in advance for your own use. The staff were friendly and helpful and the site had all the essentials, shop, launderette and bar/cafe. Excellent value for money and we would definitely holiday here again.

Stayed 4nights 12/10/15 .fabulous break great site , work in progress but perfect holiday place brand new van clean and all comforts .On site pool and lots of fun for our 2 grandsons .site is top value and definitely a place to visit thanks to all staff .
