Turriff Pre-School Playgroup

Early years care and education for children aged 2-5

Turriff Pre-School Playgroup was established in 1968 and has successfully adapted over the years to continue to provide a service for the local community and to work within current legislation.

We are registered with the Care Inspectorate to care for children aged from two to five years.
We work in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council to provide quality funded places.
We are a member of Early Years Scotland.

We have five members of staff, two of whom are full time to ensure children are provided with consistent care.
All staff are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)

Manager /Lead Practitioner: Rae Farquhar - qualified to SVQ Level 3 and 4 and working towards a degree, BA Childhood Practice with the University of Aberdeen.

Assistant Manager /Practitioner: Debbie Mackie - qualified to HNC and working towards a degree, BA Childhood Practice with the University of Aberdeen.

Playleader /Practitioner: Sheena Cheyne - qualified nurse.

Playleader /Practitioner: Louise Grieve - commencing SVQ level 3 September 2015.

Assistant Playleader / Support Worker: Lynn Stuart - will be undertaking appropriate SVQ.

We follow the 'birth to three' and 'curriculum for excellence' framework. Providing each child with a fun learning environment with learning experiences both indoors and out that are unique to each individual child.

We have an outdoor planting area, make regular use of the astro-turf and having the den on our doorstep provides excellent opportunities for outdoor play.

A healthy choice of daily snack is provided to children following nutritional guidelines.
