I'm giving up explaining the logic behind the videos I post here on a Monday. Feel free to come up with your own explanation and I'll let you know if you've hit the mark. Trust me, my hips don't lie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=weRHyjj34 ZE

Typewronger Books is proud to announce that we are publishing our first book, The Misadventures of John Nicholson by local lad Robert Louis Stevenson. This was originally published as part of a collection of Stevenson's work after his death and we think it deserves more notice!
The Misadventures involves embezzlement, a mugging on Calton hill, an illegal drinking establishment, a murder & a comedy cabby - it's set in Victorian Edinburgh at Christmas! Our edition includes an introduction by Jeremy Hodges and five new illustrations by Joanna Robson. Both Jeremy and Joanna will be there to discuss the work/sign copies!

Wonderful quirky bookshop.

What a unique and fabulous experience we had at Typewronger Books. Upon stepping through the door we were offered tea and brownies (which we gladly accepted!) but that’s when the REAL magic happened. We each asked for a couple of book suggestions...and we got upwards of 10. He really knows his stuff and engages you in interesting conversations spurred on by books, of course. The atmosphere is vibrant and comfortable urging you to sit down with a newly found book. So many thoughtful touches such as a Typewronger stamp in the book and a handmade piece of origami. One of our BEST memories of Edinburgh. :)

What a delightful bookshop. Highly recommend. Tom was also lovely - offered tea, book recommendations, typewriter facts and excellent conversation. I also love the Typewronger stamp - what a lovely way to remember where you got book from, not to mention the origami. All round the best bookshop experience. I will be back!

The only bookshop in the world like that. Highly recommend. Tom was an incredibly lovely host, offered us a drink, book-related (and not only) talk, as well as other curiosities (such as typing lesson, and twitter-connected typewriter). If you're in Edinburgh, this is simply a must-visit spot ^^

Tea, books and origami dragons. What more could you want! Such a charming wee book shop that gives a breath of fresh air to the area.

Such a fabulous pop-up book shop on Leith walk. Loved the 5-year anniversary gift my fiancé got me yesterday. Brown paper package tied up with string.... This is definitely one of my favourite things. It even came with an oragami bird and a gorgeous bookmark. Highly recommend. // A faithful new customer
