Was here last night and everything from service, food, drinks and atmosphere were just amazing!! Perfect hidden gem. Will be and back for sure and will reccommend.

Visited Under the Stairs last night for the first time. Superb atmosphere, fab friendly service an absolute little gem. I'll definitely be back.

Visited 'Under the Stairs' mid-afternoon on a Friday after reading an on-line recommendation. Pleased we did as it's a lovely place. It has great ambience, excellent music, friendly & very knowledgable staff. I sampled an apple & grapefruit caprihina, which was truly scrumptious! I'll definitely recommend the bar to family & friends & will be back for a return visit.

Under the Stairs is an absolutely fabulous little gem in Edinburgh. The food, service and atmosphere were just great. A perfect place to celebrate my mums birthday!

Stopped off yesterday for dinner, the attention to detail coming out of the kitchen is second to none. I’d highly recommend the Bath Chaps and Skate Wing. Staff are friendly and attentive as always.

My favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. Great food and service and they were happy to adjust the meal to accommodate my son who is lactose intolerant. All done with the minimum of fuss. I always return when I'm back in the city and recommend it to all my friends.

Loved the food, the whisky, the service, the atmosphere. Definitely planning a return visit before I leave Edinburgh.

Hidden gem. Fantastic food, halfway between a cosy country pub and a wine bar. Impeccable service from friendly staff. We'll be back soon to sample more of the menu.

Had an impromptu visit last night. Really excellent meal in a cool place. Would highly recommend, great atmosphere, warm welcoming staff and great food

Great cozy place, and absolutely amazing food! I came across this place by chance last night and the cozy window seat with cushions and the fire made me go in..... If that was nice, the food was even better! They have an amazing artichokes and blue cheese appetizer - delicious! as well as a roasted banana parfait for dessert.... It's really good quality food, which was surprising for such a small and 'hidden' place. And it's also very reasonably priced - £24 for myself for a whole dinner including one main, two sides, a dessert, and a pot of tea... I've eaten in more renowned places where the food was pretentious and way more expensive - not so in Under The Stairs - the most impressive feature, for me, is the quality of their food. I will be sure to come back whenever I come to Edinburgh!

Edinburgh has a lot of great bars and a lot of great food. This one, overall, is my favorite. Good cocktails, amazing food options, and when it isn't busy it is a wonderful place to sit with a friend. I had my birthday party here, took my family when they visited, and frequently come with my roommate for a casual-but-chic night out. Highly recommend!

As soon as we walked in we were greeted and sat at a table, this place has a lovely cosy ness to it.



The service was fantastic and the food was mouth watering.



I would recommend this to anyone.

A hidden gem ... loved it ,lovely food lovely attentive staff ,quirky xx ��

You can always tell great food made with passion! It's a small local independent restaurant, which is a massive plus in my book! Cool staff and a lovely warm atmosphere. I love the idea of doing three different sized plates... Try the beef skirt and the hippy eggs. It's a restaurant on my list.

Have wanted to try this place for ages and it's really nice with welcoming friendly staff and a cool and laid back ambience.

My only gripe is it isn't dog friendly which is pretty not switched on for an Edinburgh pub these days. C'mon guys, never mind the old excuse about council rules...you need to get with it.

If we can bring a Pug it's 5* ��
