Unico is a leading national supplier of janitorial, catering and PPE equipment as well as a chemical manufacturer. We operate from two manufacturing and distribution sites in Falkirk, Central Scotland.

The origins of Unico date back to 1923 when a local man, Robert Ross, established a chemical manufacturing business. For 90 years, the business has been passed down the Ross family line, and is now directed by the founder's great-grandson, also Robert Ross.

Unico is part of the wider Alexander Ross Holdings group, which also encompasses The Scottish Fine Soaps Company, a luxury toiletry manufacturer and Montague Lloyd, a hotel amenities supplier.

At Unico we operate to ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety standards. We are also a member of The United Kingdom Cleaning Professionals Academic Service and The Cleaning and Hygiene Supplies Association.

Through our membership and shareholding in Nationwide Hygiene Supplies Unico are able to benefit from the buying power of a large group. However we keep that crucial local delivery and personalised customer support.

Our roots are in manufacturing and this is something still continuing today. The company produces our own brands of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants. We believe that the combination of an on-site laboratory, Chemist and knowledgeable sales representatives secures our positioning as a true specialist in our field.
