Uppertunity is a community interest company that offers a skills development and self-determining service to vulnerable individuals. This service will provide opportunities to individuals of any background to better themselves and their lives, leading to long term self-reliance. Working with people from vulnerable and isolated groups, Uppertunity looks at the individual’s strengths and possibilities, and then works with them to create long term independence.

Uppertunity has successfully launched our flagship group called Scribbles, an arts and crafts group. Scribbles has been running weekly since October 2015 and has become so popular, we have added a second session.

Groups available:

- SCRIBBLES:
Scribbles is a social and therapeutic arts and crafts group for adults with additional needs. This group is a safe and nurturing environment where different senses are stimulated by using various textures and a variety of colours. A new project is offered every week, and activities include painting, sculpting, designing and many more.
Cost: £2
When and Where: Every Thursday from 1pm to 3pm at Douglas Community Centre & every Saturday from 10am to 12pm at Ardler Community Centre

- DOODLES
Doodles is a therapeutic arts group, designed for adults with additional needs, who have basic skills in art and who want to learn more . We build on each individual’s strengths and unique artistic skill by providing a more in depth art experience. Each month we will be focusing on one technique or medium, such as sculpting, sketching, painting etc. We feel there are no limits in art, therefore each individual will choose their subject they wish to focus on, and we will help expand their hidden talents.

When: Every Friday from 2pm to 4pm
Where: Ardler Community Centre, Dundee

- TAILORED ART CLASS:
We offer a tailor made art class where we will come to your venue of choice, and deliver a 2 hour therapeutic art class for adults with additional needs. We build on each individual’s strengths and unique artistic skills by providing a more in depth art experience. Activities include sculpture, drum making, puppet building, comic strip creating and many more.

- All materials are provided
- Tutor and volunteers are PVG checked
- A minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 15 members per group
- Cost is £2 per person attending
- Venues include centre's and accomodation, as long as there is room to comfortably move and a sink
- Activities are tailored to the needs of the members
- The art group can be a one off or it can be made into a weekly /monthly activity

Uppertunity has big plans for a variety of groups for the future including creative writing, textiles, jewellery, cooking skills, and independence skills. Please join us on our exciting journey.
