COMEDY @ THE DROUTHY
She's back! Straight-talking single mum Moira Bell returns in a new installment of Alan Bissetts much-loved 'one-woman show'. Moira's a gran now, but still telling hilarious home-truths about dating, her estranged sister, cleaning posh folk's hooses, the return of her ex Billy, and Brexit.
Alan Bissett's The Moira Monologues / More Moira Monologues kicked up a storm during the Edinburgh Fringe getting 5 star reviews left, right and centre! A show not to ...be missed.

Gypsy_Circus are returning to The Drouthy this October. The Edinburgh based quartet have been creating a storm in the live music scene. Their vintage Blues roots combined with a modern raw indie/rock inspired hooks compliment their buoyant attitude.

Lovely wee review of our Neu Reekie show held on the 10th of August. Thanks to all involved - Kathryn Joseph, Hollie Poetry and, of course, our local talents Theo Azami and Fionn Mckerron.
Can't wait for the next one!

The public voting for the shortlisted albums for The SAY Award is open and this year, I've voted for the phenomenally talented Katie Buchan AKA Best Girl Athlete.
Originally based in Aberdeen, BGA came to prominence at the age of just 15 with the release of her debut album 'Carve Every Word'. Last year, she released her self titled second album, mostly featuring songs written before she turned 18.
An astonishing album in scope and style, it's easy to forget that the person be...hind it is so young. Her songwriting, which was always more mature than her years, has somehow managed to elevate by another couple of levels. Introspective but with hope rather than despair, I think it's a beautiful album.
I've included a link to the track 'Lucy' from the album. Give it a listen, see what you think, and once you agree that I'm right, go to https://www.sayaward.com/ and cast your vote.

Forgetting The Future from last week supporting Broadsea. Great set from the Thurso band.

Gonna start using this page to tell you about the things that we've been listening to that gets us excited. A mix of people that have, are and hopefully will be playing here in the future.
First up is the absolutely mental and amazing Minches A blend of 8-bit video games, rap, metal, pop and probably a bit of everything in between, I cannot stop listening to him (probably driving the rest of the people in the office up the wall, to be honest...screw 'em!)
If you get a chance ...to check him out, please do and report back to us. This song is him alongside Drouthy favourites Twin Heart. Both bands are on Spotify so you've no excuse nae to listen to them! #NowPlaying

Bit belated but thank you to both BROADSEA and Forgetting The Future for entertaining the heck out of us last Saturday.
Great to see them again and definitely won't be the last time we have them here.

Massive thanks to Neu Reekie for the show last night.
Much love to Hollie Poetry and Kathryn Joseph for coming up to our neck of the woods and delighting everyone. To everyone reading this, please go and check them out as they're amazing.
Also thank you to Theo Azami and Fionn Mckerron as our local slots. It can be nerve-wracking getting up on stage but they both did awesomely well and should be very proud of themselves.
... And lastly, an absolutely stunning tribute to Scott Hutchison. Showed just how much of a great person he was and how he managed to touch so many people's lives. A sorely missed individual.
If you didn't see them last night, make sure you take the chance the next time you can. And if you're in Edinburgh on the 16th of August, try and catch Michael Pedersen's Oyster Party for Scott Hutchison.
Big love guys x

// FRIDAY NIGHT MUSIC //
We are happy to have the brilliant Callum Beattie return on the 28th September!
The Edinburgh singer-songwriter has been hard at music all his life, with a passion for writing punchy, rousing music. His musicianship is almost euphoric with lyrics filled with personal sentiment. In 2017 Beattie released his debut album 'Lights in Stereo'. Produced by Ken Nelson, who has worked with the likes of Coldplay and Paolo Nutini, 'Lights In Stereo' is the albu...m of Beattie's years.
Tickets are available online at http://buytickets.at/eventsinelgin/174133 . And at The Drouthy Cobbler bar.
