Work starts next week on Phase 1 of our ambitious 2 year plan to re-develop UWS Students Union Paisley.
Level 3 (Gym) & Level 4 (SU Offices) open as usual. Level 1 will reopen for Freshers' on 31st August.

Some very worrying research into the prevalence of sexual violence in our universities - we need to be taking much more action to ensure our universities are safe spaces for women.

Important research released today by the NUS into into sexual harassment and violence specifically within further education. We at SAUWS are working with our partners at UWS to ensure that our campuses and Students' Union spaces are safe.
These are some of the key findings:
Overall, 75 per cent of respondents to our survey had had an unwanted sexual experience at least once. ... Three in ten students (28 per cent) had been pressured to establish an unwanted sexual or romantic relationship. One in seven respondents (14 per cent) had experienced attempted rape/unwanted sexual intercourse. Bisexual students significantly more likely than other sexual orientations to say their embarrassment was their reason for not reporting an incident to anyone. Disabled students were significantly more likely than non-disabled respondents to have experienced several forms of sexual misconduct at least once.
