Veritas (Permanently Closed)

A nearby very trendy place had a kitchen fire and we were stranded at 9pm, when most of the neighbourhood restaurateurs and publicans grab for their pipe and slippers. Nowhere in the area was still serving. However, Veritas, was very much open and welcoming. The food was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful, even tolerating an order for an obscure Italian aperitivo. We found a jewel.

This place was one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been. The atmosphere and waitresses make this a truly pleasurable experience and I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Very authentic small Italian. Pizza was amazing and fresh. Great service from staff. Dessert was to die for.

The place has nice atmosphere - nice quiet restaurant.
The service was kind of friendly - but I didn't feel as welcomed...

We ordered Steak - on the menu was Stir-lion but we were informed that there is rib-eye instead - and that it is nicer than Stir-lion...

When the main course arrived I was glad I have ordered starter dish (which was very tasty and similar size to a main dish).

Main dish:
The steak was tasty, It came with ONE potato croquette, and portion of rocket salad leaves...
I asked for a wine, and got less than half of glass...

I'm not saying that it wasn't tasty BUT for that price I would like to get a bit bigger portion...

A bit disappointed...

After working 20 years for an Italian family in their restaurant, I have become very critical of my Italian meals served to me. The staff at VERITAS gave excellent service and the food was some of the best. I highly recommend checking it out!
