Good evening everyone We hope this message finds you and your beloved pets well and healthy. The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and British Veterinary Association have changed their guidance relating to services like vaccinations, allowing us to perform first vaccinations on puppies, kittens and rabbits from the 13 April 2020 Our Best start in life pack will now be available and includes the first vaccinations, kennel cough vaccination, microchip, 3 months’ worth of f...lea and worm treatment, 4 weeks of free insurance and 10% off neutering. All this for only £85. We will also be performing first boosters. This applies to adult animals that are getting a booster for the first time. With regard to neutering, we will only carry out a limited number of surgeries. Those will depend on the circumstances that the animal is facing and will be discussed at the time of booking. However, with the goal to protect you, your family and our team, we will ask you to respect the social distancing and wait inside your car. Once you arrive at the car park please call the reception and a member of staff will come out to receive your pet. After a first examination the veterinarian will call you and perform a consultation over the phone and discuss the necessary treatment and cost. We will take the payment over the phone and then return your pet. We will still prioritize emergencies and sick animals, this means that other appointments will be limited per day. We appreciate your help and patience and if you would like to book an appointment please give us a call on 01419443980

!!COVID-19 UPDATE!!
Following guidance from RCVS and BVA we have made further changes to our coronavirus protocol in order to protect our clients and staff members
As most of you know from now on we will only do emergency consultations, please call the practice to book an appointment. All routine appointments unfortunately have to be cancelled. This now also includes all vaccinations, including puppy and kitten vaccinations.
... We will contact all clients that already have non urgent appointments booked in to offer advice on how to proceed.
In case of emergency we will ask you to call us when you arrive in the car park and to wait inside your car. A member of staff will come to the car and bring your pet to his appointment. Once your pet is in the consultation room the vet will perform the examination and call you to discuss your pet’s illness, the treatment plan and the cost. We will call you back to take the payment over the phone and return your beloved pet and any medication necessary back to the car.
Thank you for your understanding and patience, these are difficult times for everyone and our priority is giving your pet the best care whilst keeping you and your families and our staff safe.
STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY AND OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU ALL.

PLEASE READ - VERY VERY IMPORTANT In response to the coronavirus situation we have taken new measures to protect our clients and colleagues.
Unfortunately, from the 24/03/20 we will only be booking emergencies and sick patients. We won’t be performing any more booster and health checks consultations. Puppies and kittens will still be seen until they finish the vaccination protocol.
... Our opening hours will also be temporarily changing, from Monday to Saturday we will be open from 9am to 6pm and on Sundays we will be open from 10am to 6pm.
Routine surgeries will be reduced to minimum until further notice.
Due to the increased demand of orders being placed, all prescription medication for ongoing treatments can be collected 2 to 3 days for the date of order. Please call the practice to confirm that your prescription is ready.
If you believe your animal needs medical attention please call the practice on 01419443980 and we will be able to give you advice over the phone and if necessary book you for a consultation. We are here to help prevent any pet from suffering. These are unprecedented times and all measure we put in place is regularly reviewed as the situation develops.
On arrival at the car park please call the practice and wait inside your car. Once the vet is available we will call you back. When arriving to reception please stay behind the red and white line on the floor. We will ask you some questions and request you to sanitize your hands before your appointment. Only one person will be allowed to go in the consultation room and for your and our safety try to keep two metres between yourself, other clients and staff members.
Until further notice we will only be accepting card payments.
We appreciate your help and patience whilst we all try to get through these uncertain times. If anything changes we will update you as soon as possible, until then stay safe.
Many thanks from the team at Vets4pets Drumchapel

Today is international puppy day so lets see all your little ones as puppies or if they are puppies. I have put a picture of my old man Baxter as a puppy. He certainly never stayed that small for long 😊.

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ! We are taking steps as a practice to ensure we keep our staff, you and your families safe from COVID -19. We ask you to please respect the following:
1. If you are self-isolating or live with someone who is because of suspected or confirmed Covid-19 please do not bring your pet to the surgery. If your pet requires emergency treatment, please phone and make our reception staff aware you are self-isolating and nominate a designated person to bring you...r pet to the surgery on your behalf. 2. Where possible we are advising delaying routine treatments and consults. If you are unsure whether your pet requires a veterinary consultation please ring and we will triage your appointment over the phone. 3. On arrival please notify reception of your arrival. We will be asking you to sanitise your hands on arrival and on leaving the practice. 4. One person with each pet per appointment if possible. This helps to keep you and your families safe and reduces contact in our waiting rooms. 5. We will be no longer offering nurse flea and worm appointments until further notice. Please ring to request these preventative healthcare medications. We require 48 hours to process repeat medication orders.
We realise this is a worrying, uncertain time for everyone but we will continue to care for your pets as we always have and will do everything we can to support their wellbeing. Many thanks for your co-operation.

What are these wriggly things seen only under a microscope? Monsters inside a pet! In this day and age this should be prevented. But this is no fault of the new owners.

At this time of year there is a lot of things going on Christmas shopping, putting up your tree, wrapping presents and getting ready for Santa coming. But unfortunately some of this can be hazardous to our pets. Here are some things that are dangerous for your pets. Christmas decorations Candles Chocolate Chritmas Pudding and mince pies: Grapes and dried vine fruits (currants, sultanas,rasins)... Onions, garlic, leeks, shallots and chives Macadamia nuts Alcohol Poinsetta Holly Mistletoe Christmas trees Ivy Potpourri Batteries Silica gel sachets Fatty foods (too much leftovers) Balloons and string
If your pet does ingest any of these please contact your vet as soon as possible and they will give you advise on what to do. Or if they are closed please contact thier out of hours provider for advise. Please also remember to check if you have enough medication for your fur babies over Christmas and New year.
