#NationalPetMonth This is Tinkerballa, she's an 8 year old domestic longhair. She belongs to Julie-Anne, one of our Veterinary Nurses.
"Tinkerballa is a domestic longhair and, as you can see, she is very pretty. She likes to spend most of her time in her house at the top of the cat tree as that means neither of the other pets can bother her and she gets peace. She also has a subtle way of letting you know she wants attention by dropping to floor directly in front of you and rolling over for a belly rub."

#NationalPetMonth This is Taco, he is a 7 year old collie cross. He belongs to Julie-Anne, one of our Veterinary Nurses.
"He came into Glasgow Small Animal Hospital from Dogs Trust while I was working there and he was diagnosed with an oesophageal dysmotility. Since this had the chance of being something that would need a lot of owner input, I offered to foster him and that was several years ago! He also has a condition called Pannus which means in the summer, I get to put doggles on him as the UV rays can make it worse."

This is a picture of our current team in practice, one Vet and one Nurse, working tirelessly to accomodate all of our patients needing urgent care and attention. For this reason, we ask you only call us if you have a GENUINE emergency, or have arrived at the practice for an appointment or to collect essential medication. If our telephone lines are busied up with non urgent issues then the consequesnces could be tragic. Please email Irvine@vets4pets.com for anything else inclu...ding repeat perscriptions for medication, flea and worm treatment, queries regarding insurance claims or to arrange a telephone or video consult if your pet has a non urgent condition. We will respond to these emails when we are able to do so. We are very grateful to all our wonderful clients who are following this advice and ask you to share this post far and wide to allow us to continue to care your pets who urgently need treatment. #keyworkers

You may have read some reports in the media recently regarding Coronavirus infection in domestic and wild animals, especially cats. Please be reassured that there is no evidence currently that pets can play a role in the spread of Covid-19; infectious disease experts and multiple human & animal health organisations agree there is no evidence that pets can spread the disease to people.
The British Veterinary Association have released the following statement: "We are not advisi...ng that all cats are kept indoors. Only cats from infected households or where their owners are self-isolating, and only if the cat is happy to be kept indoors. Some cats cannot stay indoors due to stress-related medical reasons. There have been a tiny number of cases of Covid-19 in animals and in all cases, it is likely that the transmission was human to animal. There is no evidence that pets can pass Covid-19 to their owners.” https://www.bva.co.uk/coronavirus/
We would recommend following Government advice that you wash your hands both before and after handling your animals, especially if your cat goes outside and may come into contact with other people or animals. https://www.gov.uk/…/coronavirus-covid- 19-advice-for-people…
If you have any further concerns or queries, please email us at irvine@vets4pets.com (please note this email address is not monitored 24/7 and should not be used in emergencies).

#NationalPetMonth This is Harry, he is about 8 years old and a domestic shorthair. He belongs to Jennifer, one of our client care representatives.
"Otherwise known as Houdini, he can open every single door & cupboard drawer in house and has great pleasure in doing this. He went missing for 4 months when he was a year old and thankfully, after a huge campaign by me, came back a third bigger than when he left and in immaculate condition. After a few months we took him to hi...s vets in Falkirk where I lived at that time, unfortunately on a busy road he escaped from his basket, after a week in peoples gardens eventually got him back, I assumed his basket was faulty however next time I took him to vets whilst paying at reception everyone witnessed him opening his own basket from the inside..... thankfully we haven't had major incidents recently, but he the sweetest cheekiest wee ginger boy."
