Had to pay to use a debit card. Luke warm food. Drinks are over priced. Paid one pound extra for sauerkraut and received around a single teaspoon in a small cup. The pulled pork had a pitiful amount of pork. Bread and buns were also stale. Tables had a thin layer of grease on them. Only go if you are starving.

Friendly staff and great Rioja by the glass. Steaks were adequate though served on wood. Slate or a warm plate would have been better. Not cheap but certainly value.

Great night in! My partner and I really had a super time. The staff were friendly and offered some pretty cool drinks. I was worried the food was going to take a while because they had a fair few people dining on Saturday but it came out nice and fast!

It's really nice when you go to a place for the first time and they make a good impression. I most certainly will be back especially after the great service from the staff.

Heard this place got some new staff so decided to give it another shot. The new menu is delicious and the staff were very accommodating of all my parties requests. The location is perfect for where I work. It's my new favorite lunch hang out.

Ordered 1 cocktail 3 times. Each glass tasted completely different. A great accomplishment with only 3 ingredients.

Food took an hour. Amazing when 3 of the dishes were salads. Could have found a local allotment, dug up some veg, washed it and munched down in half the time

Please get a grip and employ more staff! When I visited only one person was responsible for all the guests while two people were serving drinks at the bar. This resulted in long waiting times for both drinks and food. A big thumbs up for the food however I would suggest you heat up the plates (the food was almost cold when it arrived). Over all a good food experience accompanied with overworked and stressed servers which is, in my opinion, the owners fault.

Reasonable cocktail place with some lovely drinks on menu. The decor is nice and upmarket with plenty of seating however the staff are inexperienced or untrained.

Whilst waiting for to order drinks, we were told it's table service. At our table we were told specific tables were only for customers wanting food.

If one side of the venue is a restaurant, they really need a maître d'.

Appalling experience. Booked via phone to use two paid for vouchers in two different names. Booked one table for 18:30 in my girlfriends name and another table for 19:30 to use my voucher in my name. We arrived promptly at 18:30 to be told we could not use both vouchers even though we were confirmed and booked up to do so.
An argument ensued with the unrelenting short sighted inexperienced manager who said that the information given was incorrect and that she had targets to reach therefore we could not use both vouchers. Now whatever happened to putting your customers first. I have run several successful businesses and I know that a show of good will under such circumstances instead of arguing with your customers goes a long way. Had we been able to enjoy our date without the bad taste we were left with then we would have spent an enjoyable evening there, ordering a bottle or two of wine and had a meal and therefore no doubt aiding the managers target!! We however were left in no mood to stay or spend any money, we used our cocktail voucher and promptly left to go to the Slug and Lettuce where we had a great night and a hearty evening was had and I left with an empty wallet, something the Villager should have received had their manager not shown such lack of customer care and consideration in favour of her targets!!

Surly moody waitress with the personality of a plank. Used to love this little bar but won't be hurrying back anytime soon
