Rich in heritage, wildlife & culture Cowal has a wide range of activities, attractions and accommodation on offer. The area boasts spectacular highland hills, ancient forests, dramatic glens and lochs offering a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. And all of this is just an hour and a half from Glasgow.
But for somewhere that is so easy to get to and with so much to offer, the peninsular is still relatively unknown. ‘Visit Cowal’ represents around 70 local businesses who are passionate about the area, who are determined to raise awareness of it and also to protect its special qualities – its magnificent landscape, unique heritage and lively communities.
This Facebook page is run by Leonard Gow and Abigail Daly, who both work in the area, with support from a wide network of knowledgeable organisations, energetic businesses, voluntary groups and Cowal enthusiasts.
