Viva Mexico

During a stay in Edinburgh myself and my girlfriend wasn't to try something different and came across Viva Mexico. The food was beautiful, I could not recommend it more. The staff were also extremely friendly. If you are looking g for great classic Mexican style food this is the place to visit.

Been twice now and each time we've loved it. Great authentic atmosphere and plenty to choose from the menu with everything we've had so far tasting amazing. The tequila tastes great...straight or in their margarita jugs. Will return again.

A small Quaint Mexican restaurant with an authentic menu. The food is decently priced and very much worth it. The bill came out to 57 Pounds for 3 with a main and drinks.Rodrigo generally took great care of us and even stopped to have a talk with us between serving tables. I had the skirt steak main. I asked rodrigo if I can get a low carb variant and he was able to easily enable my dietary needs. The drinks where mixed to an even strength in liquor. Recommended.

Been coming here for years and have always been more than satisfied with the wonderful quality of food served here. However I'm very displeased to discover today, during the August Festival period, they're charging table service fees despite no mention of it on their menu or prior to service. Feels like nothing more than a money grab from tourists, and as a long time local, I'll think twice before returning.

Food and cocktails were excellent and good service too

Very slow service. Waited over 30 minutes for drinks and to then order food. One waitress had no idea what the drinks we were ordering were - which are on the menu! also charged nearly £3 for a couple more wraps when we were only given 2 small wraps in the first place. The food wasn't too bad when we eventually got it and was told 'sorry there's a party of 15 upstairs' pretty unprofessional considering we're all customers regardless of how many.. at least just apologise for being busy.

Highly recommended place. As a Mexican living in Edinburgh I can say that it is the closer you will get to real Mexican food and not tex-mex (burritos with lettuce and nachos).
My only complain is that I ordered a soup and it was warm-cold.
Prices are ok and they even offer set menus for £11 including soup and a main.

Wonderful real Mexican food and great beers and margaritas! Highly recommend
