The Volkswagen Racing Cup is the UK’s best-supported saloon racing series. Open to all recent performance Volkswagen models – Scirocco R and Golf GTI /R are the favourites – the championship has become a real hit for fans and competitors alike. The variety of machinery, representing Volkswagens of all ages has made for one of the most colourful and diverse grids in motorsport.

The championship’s innovative and stable regulations put all cars into a single class based on power to weight ratios. The idea of a lightweight Polo GTI challenging a powerful V6 Beetle and a torquey TDI Golf for overall victory has always been a real experience for drivers, teams and spectators alike.

In 2015 the championship reached its sixteenth season of competition, and remains the sole saloon support race in the prestigious British GT Championship package. It offers scintillating wheel to wheel action on track and a high quality hospitality service off track. The championship benefits from live television coverage on Motors TV and is also shown on Channel 4.

The Volkswagen Racing Cup season currently consists of sixteen rounds at the UK’s finest circuits including Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donnington Park; with a feature event at the iconic Spa Francorchamps Circuit in Belgium.
