The Old Man of Storr overlooks the town of Portree on the Isle of Skye. I am happy to say I will be heading back up here in a few weeks time to get some fresh material touring a number of islands in the Inner and Outer Hebrides. It's been too long and hopefully I can remember how to shoot landscape images.
Thanks for standing by me during thee drought of images everyone.
Best Wishes... Paul

"Leaving Uig" CORRECTION "Leaving Mallaig"
A big thanks to Graham Wyllie for correctly pointing out that this is actually the CalMac ferry leaving Mallaig for Armadale and NOT "Leaving Uig" for Tarbert. I must apologise for this as I included the wrong image in my haste. Uig coming up soon.
This is the village of Uig on the Isle of Skye as seen from the ferry to the Outer Hebrides. I am always excited at this part of the journey as I know the next step is to land at Tarbert ...on the Isle of Harris. One of my most favourite islands, regardless of the weather. I will be back there in a months time and can hardly wait.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Best Wishes Paul

Rush hour on the Isle of Harris
This beautiful Eriskay pony roams the sand dunes of Luskentyre beach on the Isle of Harris, Outer Hebrides, Scotland. I am already in the planning stage for a return here in May and cant wait for similar photography opportunities this year.
Have a great week folks... Best Wishes Paul

Rattray Head Lighthouse, Aberdeenshire
One of my favourite lighthouses due to it standing out in the sea as opposed to on a rocky promontory on land. Despite the difficult track to get here, we enjoyed our time and the changeable weather that was thrown at us.

One of my favourite views.
Luskentyre beach and the Harris Hills taken from that famous parking lay-by at Seilbost on the Isle of Harris. Taken just before the heavens opened and we were showered in a deluge of rain.
Best wishes all

Corstorphine Kirk, Edinburgh Scotland.
Taken last year just after the cherry blossom was falling. I love that time of year when you get a carpet of pink to add a bit of colour to your images.
Have a great weekend folks... Best Wishes Paul

Sea Stacks at Tolsta beach, Isle of Lewis.
I return here in May and am hoping for some similar weather to catch these beautiful sea stacks again. This posted as a special request for lifelong friend and avid supporter, Jen MacKinnon. :) Thanks for the suggestion Jen.

One of my favourites from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. This is the rocky peninsula of Mangersta on the west side of the island shot just as the sun was disappearing.
Have a great weekend folks Best Wishes Paul

Dalmore Beach, Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides.
It wasn't the best of weather when we rolled up at Dalmore beach so I wasn't too sure if we would get anything worthy of posting. However, I decided to adopt a slightly longer exposure to get some movement in the waves crashing into the shore.
Have a great weekend folks.... Best Wishes Paul

Ardvreck Castle just as the sun goes down.
Ardvreck Castle was built by the Macleod Clan in the fifteenth century on a promontory of land that juts into Loch Assynt. It witnessed regular local clan warfare throughout its history but it became infamous for its role in national events in 1650 when James Graham, Marquis of Montrose was betrayed there and handed over to his Covenanter enemies.

Benmore, Isle of Mull
With a few Heilan Coos in the foreground. I am lucky to be going back here again in June this year. I just love the place as it offers so many different Landscape and Wildlife photographic opportunities.

"Sunset over Taransay"
An evening that originally promised nothing delivered a lovely sunset just as we had finished dinner. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. Taken on the Isle of Harris last May and hoping for much more of this in May this year.

Regardless of the weather, the white sands and turquoise waters of the west coast of the Isle of Harris make a marvellous sight, especially against the dark skies and black Harris hills.

After a bit of a lay off from visiting Scotland's shores and hills for landscapes, I am happy to report that I will be heading out to the Outer Hebrides in May visiting Harris, Lewis, North and South Uist and a few of the Inner Hebrides islands as well. I simply cant wait as it has been so long with me concentrating on wildlife.
Here is a shot of probably the most photographed parking lay-by on Harris at Seilbost.
Have a great week everyone and thanks for hanging in there dur...ing my drought of images.

Thanks to all the people that voted in my wee poll. The overwhelming vote was to keep the page Scotland only images but there was significant numbers indicating that they would like to see other places I visit.
To that part, I am going to keep the page mainly Scotland but continue with the odd image of my journeys just to keep the page active when I am away such as the last three weeks when I was in America.
Here is one of many memorable locations I visited during my recent v...isit to Utah and Arizona Canyonlands and Arches. This is Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. Its not an ideal image by a long shot due to the time of day and the totally blue sky but it is a nice reminder for the record of a beautiful, if not over commercialised location.
Load it up full screen mode to get an idea of the scale made clear by the tiny boats at the height of the bend. Have a nice day. Best Wishes Paul

One thing that has always been on my mind is whether I should restrict this page to Landscape views of Scotland or open it up to landscapes from the other countries I visit. What do you think ?

I am currently in USA right now and more specifically, Yellowstone National Park. Here is a scene from the Lamar valley in the park with a lone Buffalo on the plains with the snow capped mountains in the background.

Getting into flight mode.
This is the 10:30 flight from Bristol arriving into Corfu carrying holidaymakers to a sunny destination and beach holiday. I wish it was as nice as that right now but in Edinburgh, it is currently raining and miserable.
Have a great day... Paul Masterton

My husband first brought me up here about twenty seven years ago and we visited everywhere from Glasgow up to Wick he was a salmon fisherman and loved Scotland a love I soon shared and we moved up to Buckie in 2005

He passed away Feb 2016. I have been going through your photos and they have brought back so many happy memories, Dornie, Eilean Donan, the Kyle over to Skye, Plockton, Lochcarron, the Pass of the cattle over to Applecross (frightened out my wits) and we stood on that bridge at Loch Na Keal so many memories and I would dearly like to thank you so much for bringing them all back so vividly bless you
