W. O'Mara And Sons

Based in Orbiston Street, Motherwell, W. O'Mara & Sons offers a complete funeral service to the surrounding area.

William O'Mara has over 15 years experience within the funeral industry, mainly with the Co-op funeral care. William states "most of the families who come to me for funeral arrangements have been people I have dealt with in the past, this is a great source of pride for me", he adds, "funeral costs have risen sharply over the past few years. As an independent funeral director I can be very flexible and competitive with regards to price without any compromise in service".

William has underwent specialist training to qualify as a director. He continued his training and became an embalmer in 2006 and in 2010 went on to qualify as an accredited tutor for the British Institute of Embalmers (theory teaching on a weekly basis). He is the only accredited tutor currently teaching in Scotland.

Living within the local community gives an invaluable knowledge of the local area and an understanding of the different cultures within our community.

Our staff consists of two local families, Our Senior Staff are William O'Mara and John McGhee. Both of Williams sons, Jordan and Sam and his daughter Rachel are involved in the business. John's son Steven also works in this family business and is currently training to become a qualified funeral director.
