Absolutely fantastic hotel from start to finish. Really made my parents anniversary so special. Couldn’t of been more accommodating if they tried. The staff were so friendly, so helpful and informative- nothing was to much trouble. Can’t wait to come back and stay here again. Breakfast is also a must here! The food was fab. Would like to thank Catherine especially on check in as she went above and beyond to ensure both my sister and I, and my parents stay was more than perfect. Thank you!

We held our daughter's wedding in the WaldorfAstoria Edinburgh December 2021. I cannot praise all the staff enough for the service, quality and attention to detail. Nothing was too much trouble. We were listened to and everything we asked for was perfectly delivered. Only sorry I can't do it again. It was perfect and instilled great confidence in undertaking such a big event. I also thought it was good value for money. Very well done for winning the luxury hotel award!! Well deserved 👏

Beautiful hotel. 5 stars for the castle room view and nice bathroom but the water was warm so I couldn’t take a hot bath. Also, the sauna, steam room and hot tub were just warm and not hot enough. The breakfast was great and the restaurant was beautiful. Gorgeous. The concierge helped me gladly. Overall, a nice experience and great location.

Lovely hotel and brilliant atmosphere. It's full of history and beautifully decorated. The hotel staff are extremely warm, friendly and helpful. The main dining room is very relaxing and serve delicious food. Rooms are quite spacious and very comfortable. Highly recommended for your next stay in Edinburgh.

Lovely hotel and brilliant atmosphere. One of my favourite hotels in Edinburgh. It's full of history as it used to be the main train station. The hotel itself was built on the main station entrance and the bar/ lounge area still has the original walls where the platform used to be. Most of the rooms, castle suite and swimming pool overlooks the castle. Expensive but overall good service. Highly recommended 👍

One of the best afternoon tea places in Edinburgh. The portions were large, very tasty. The selection of teas is also very wide which is always a plus. Only wished there would be some live music taking place in the background (harp or piano) as it was awfully quiet when we went there with my fiancee.

Stayed here on the first night of our honeymoon. The location is competely central. The service was brilliant, staff were helpful with special gratitude to the concierge staff. Room was big, and had everything you'd expect for an establishment of this size. Found the value for money really good with the added bonus of having access to gym and pools etc. A fantastic breakfast finished off a wonderful stay and we will 100% be back again, next time we visit Edinburgh.

Lovely hotel in a nice location. Staff were very accommodating and the concierge reached out several times to offer assistance with our travels. Rooms were clean and well-outfitted. The location is convenient to everything.

The location is ideal affording easy access to the new and old town. The staff are friendly, competent and polite. The room we stayed at was situated on the first floor facing Edinburgh castle. We visited during fringe season and live music was audible till past 12 from a bar across the street. Not a significant issue for us but might put others off. The room was functional with no bells and whistles, not exactly standard bearing for the industry, just about justifying 5 star. Crucially, the beds were comfortable.

Well located, nice rooms, good service. The swimming pool is a bit of a trek and has lots of damp, slippery, steps between the pool and the changing rooms that need care to use but it was worth it - the pool and jacuzzi are pleasant. Breakfast is exceptional; haggis and black pudding especially.

Fantastic hotel right next to Edinburgh Castle off Princes Street. Handy for both the new and old towns. Well appointed rooms with brilliant staff.

Not quite as swanky as I expected, but that's just coming from a spoiled American. The staff was spectacular, and the building did have historical charm. The Spa was impressive, and very clean. The location is pretty central so walking to the Royal Miles is a breeze. Overall great stay.

They learn your name, they learn your preference, they greet you when you come back. You don't have to be dressed to the nines to get respect from anyone. They want you to enjoy your stay and will go far out of their way to make sure that you do.

While I did eat outside of the hotel (I'm not from there, getting local food is what travel is all about,) I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and one dinner I had on-site.

The food was high quality and filled with nuance. The wine suggested by the wait staff was perfect and knowledgeable with what I was eating.

The decor was pleasant and relaxing. They had (dare I say) EXCELLENT suggestions of where I could golf and enjoy the day instead of hunt for the ball. They had pretty darn good suggestions regardless of the subject.

I recommend this hotel, if only for a couple of nights.
