Hand cut peat for the stove at Weavers Cottage!
When it’s sunny here in The Outer Hebrides...which is more often than you would think it is stunningly gorgeous but in January on a sunny day, you become speechless at the beauty surrounding you! The snow capped mountains across the Minch and the sea looking like tropical waters.
At New Year my guests at Weavers Cottage wrote that “I’ll remember this weeks holiday for the rest of my life and your lovely little cottage will always be part of our story”. Make your holiday memories here in the Outer Hebrides at Weavers Cottage!
Happy Christmas to all our friends and guests at Weaver's Cottage from Loomdog Meg and Margaret. X
Very low light pollution in the Outer Hebrides, just one little dot over Stornoway, which is why...on a clear night, you can almost reach out and touch the Milky Way above Weavers Cottage.
Port Beach is always stunning, anytime of the year, in any weather but sunshine does help to make it sparkle!!
Hand cut peats burning in the stove... you will always be cosy and warm at Weaver’s Cottage!
‘Weaver’s Cottage’ is still a Weaver’s Cottage. The loomshed next to the house has equally fabulous views and provides endless inspiration for my Harris Tweed...of course ably helped by Miss Loomdog Meg! A huge thank you to all our guests who helped with beaming the warp and pirn winding! I know we will see some of you again next year!
You couldn’t ask for a more stunning view from a holiday cottage, looking north to the Atlantic and down to Port of Ness.
The Butt of Lewis lighthouse, fabulous place to go walking...or watching birds, dolphins, porpoises, whales and the odd basking shark!!!
Only a short drive from Weavers Cottage, great as a half day trip or en -route exploring the Westside of Lewis! A beautiful village nestled in amongst the hillside.
Even though the wind is now from the north and it is definitely getting stronger, the light is extraordinary, looking out to see from the beach or 'Weavers Cottage'. With the peat burning on the stove, it is wonderfully cosy indoors!
Just because summer is behind us now, doesn’t mean that there is nothing to see during the winter months here in the Outer Hebrides. Spend a cosy retreat at Weavers Cottage by the peat fire...looking out at spectacular skies over the Atlantic, or Snow on the Sutherland mountains in the winter sunshine!
After waving goodbye to my last guests yesterday, ive had time to read through some of the wonderful comments they had left me in the visitors book. So lovely to remember them all this way and know some of you will be back another year! Thank you!
Meg and I will be saying goodbye to our last house guests for the season this morning. We’ve met lots of lovely, interesting folk from the Uk, Australia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and France and look forward to meeting some of them again next year...with eleven weeks booked already for 2019! It is so lovely to share this very special part of Lewis and from the amazing reviews you have given me, you’ve all had a wonderful time, exploring the Hebrides...right down to Barra. You’ve been cycling, snorkelling, whale and dolphin watching, surfing and walking. Some of you have even helped in the loomshed, beaming, winding pirns and weaving!
How appropriate....you could weave your own Hebridean story at Weaver’s Cottage, Adabrock. Maybe even see the Northern lights if you book a Winter break!!
This is the perfect locus to savour the glory of the North Western Isles AND if you play your cards right get the opportunity to see your very own Harris Tweed being handwoven! A truly unique taste of Scotland's best. RECOMMENDED+++++
This cottage has everything stunning views, walking distance from the beach and the comfiest bed!!!
Margaret was on hand to give advise and we even got to see how the loom in her weaving shed worked.
I would highly recommend staying at weavers cottage
Beautiful cottage in a lovely part of the world. Tastefully decorated with lots of really nice hand made personal touches by the owner. Stunning views and a perfect base from which to explore the area.
