The cruise ship - Hebridean Princess in port this week. Some of us will have sailed on her as the Columba. A frequent visitor to Troon, the ship is occasionally chartered by the Queen. However there was no indication she was on board this time, and definitely not spotted in the Wee Hurrie!
Spooky looking walled garden Monkton, at Troon turnoff...

Waited a while for our food as it was so busy, trust me it was worth the wait!! I'd go back to troon just for the food
The food is never disappointing here however I always come for the monkfish and the last 3 times I’ve been they haven’t had any monkfish or even cod
The best fish and chips and sunny enough to have it outside at the table. Fish was the best big white flakes .... delicious ! Good to
see Nick still there too... see you soon !
Straight off the boat fresh and great size portions. I'm not a fan of batter but, theirs is really good. Not fatty at all.
Happiness is a fish supper from the Wee Hurrie! Perfection in polystyrene. That's the only bugbear.Go back to wrapping in paper please! If you have never experienced a Wee Hurrie, I feel sorry for you.
Had a lovely fish supper at the Wee Hurrie fish cooked a treat as were the chips. Son had a burger which to be fair looked amazing but don't see the point when there's fish on offer lol
Defo be back when I visit Troon (I may visit just for the fish supper lol)
Great wee place for fish supper the best place for fish and chips
Found this place on the docks in Troon after recommended by friends. Great selection of seafood and the best double fried chips ever tasted. Everything fresh straight from the sea and not going back and forth from inland fishmongers. We went for the sustainable whiting. £3.70 for two pieces! The place not impressive to look at but serve great honest food. Staff were equally great. Will be visiting in the summer and eating fresh fish and chips there rather than in the car as we did on a freezing Saturday in February.
Food was top notch place was heaving at quarter to 8 so that tells you how popular it is would definitely recommend if in or around the place
Food was amazing, bit of a wait but well worth it in the end round to the car park over looking the water and watch the sun set.
Canny whack it !
Well worth the journey to get there!
Well worth the wait while they cook the food!
...... and a bit of sunshine makes it a picnic pleasure !
Came across this wee place on Troon Harbour,The Oyster Bar was quiet but service by Amy was excellent,& mussels, prawns, fish & chips perfect !Even saw the harbour seals!will be back
The fish & chip shop Wee Hurries next door was busy with take away, obviously good food!
Absolutely fabulous food, monkfish suppers coleslaw and mushy peas from one of of the UK’s best chip shops with a tongue in cheek name, and you eat it from the car park a couple of hundred metres away from the chippy over looking Arran.
Just magnificent.
You gotta do this at least once in your life
Absolutely amazing!!! we had Monkfish, sole, cod, spicy onion rings, mushy peas. Monkfish was so fresh & super tasty, just right amount of cooking time, almost melted in my mouth! Sole was really fresh too, their tartare sauce was tasty too!! Kids had cod & chips, they seemed to have enjoyed their meals. Portions are huge, we never managed to finish them all. The only thing was I found onion rings were quite crispy, however, little bit too oily. Other than that, perfecto! 👌
Fish, prawns and scampi all beautiful with perfect batter. But the chips not so good. Would come back defo. Just no chips.
Disappointed there were no prawns as that was what we had gone for but the fish was very good. Will visit again to try the prawns.
Been here few times but tonight very disappointing after a 40 min wait for 2 suppers got home and half the chips were loads of crispy wee bits to spend that money and wait that time you would expect it to be lovley
