Wee Scones Nursery

This morning our foraging foxes have been exploring mark making in porridge slime. This encourages muscle memory as well as developing their letter recognition. We used our self selected loose parts to challenge the children to write their names. We used the name book for us to copy.

This morning we took some games to play with the residents. We set up two tables of games and also played balloon tennis. This helps develop the childrens social skills as well as improving their hand eye coordination. We then had some juice and biscuits with them. All the children really enjoy their time there.

Our foraging foxes have had a really busy day. Our friends the residents came to visit us and drop some lovely easter treats off for us. We have also been exploring planting and different aspects of the outdoor environment.

Due to the predicted bad weather overnight and the knock on effect on public transport, road conditions etc we are taking the decision to close the nursery tomorrow, Thursday 1st March.

In the run up to chineese new year we have been practicing our pincer grip using chopsticks and noodles. 😁🇨🇳🐕🐲

This morning we made muffins inside lemons on the fire. All the children took a vote and decided what we would like to make. Lemons won

Yesterdays Snow day 😁☃️❄️

This morning we had another visit to Muirpark Gardens Sheltered Housing. We renacted the bear hunt story and played games with the residents.😁💗

This morning we had a forestry session that focused on fire safety. We discussed how to light a fire safely and how to keep ourselves safe when it is lit. We had some yummy marshmallows .💗😁🍢

Today we had a little adventure to the park and met bubbles the shetland pony 😁🐎💗

We enjoyed it so much yesterday we decided to involve everyone this morning. 💗👏

Our first firepit of the year

Our first trip to muirpark gardens sheltered accomidation. This will be a fortnightly activity for our children. Its a wonderful experience seeing them interacting. 🌏😍💗
