We went for a wedding on Saturday but stsyed from Thursday until Monday. Food was excellent and a lovely facility. If you were not so far away id definitely come back.
We have stayed at the Weigh Inn loads of times on our way to Orkney Islands and on our journey back home.
The rooms are fantastic. They are clean, comfy and spacious. The bar food is good with plenty of choices and the breakfasts, which are served in the conservatory, are excellent. All this with a view of the Islands! Can't wait for our next visit!
Was in for dinner couple weeks ago food was great so was the service hope to be back soon
Stuck out in the shed very poor room sleeping on top of bed got work here for week not happy
Stayed here on Saturday night I was attending a heritage road run got a room last minute was very clean and cheap also had a meal there couldn't fault it will be back
Stayed for two nights mid October, during a mini tour of North and Eastern Scotland for my husband birthday. The hotel is in a great location, ideal for touring the north coast, only 15 minutes or so to Dunnet Head, most northerly point and 5 minutes to Scrabster where you can get the ferry to the Orkneys.
Our room was sizeable, very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The staff were really friendly, welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of full Scottish cooked breakfast or a range of cereals, yoghurts etc plus toast and jams. There's a good selection of tasty reasonably priced bar meals, which are generous portions. There are pool tables and a dart board too for those who fancy a game. We found the locals were very friendly too and played darts a while with a couple of young local lads.
Overall we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay, we would certainly stay again. So if you are planning a trip to Thurso or the surrounding area and are looking to stay over or just want a meal and a drink, then give the Weigh Inn a go.
Just back from a fab meal in weigh inn tonight - amazing starter mains and sweets. Could not fault anything. Lovely warm premises and very pleasant waitress
Excellent priced rooms. And food was top notch too. We hadn't even got quarter of our drink and food was on the table. Staff too couldn't be more helpful. Well done folks
Been to two weddings at the Weigh Inn over the past month and both weddings have been run amazingly with no issues. John the new Manger has been responsive to everyone's needs. We would be happy to stop by and visit again soon. :)
Amazing Roast Beef lunch today.. food was so good and really good customer service from the waiting staff!! Thank You
A thourally enjoyable, comfortable night with great food and brilliant breakfast.. well done.. the staff were great.. many thanks we will be back..
Very good lovely fish for tea lovely view from room.
Usual pub grub but very well done. Four stars only as we waited nearly an hour from being seated to eating our meal...there was a sizeable group of us though so maybe that was a problem for them...think it was 16 with everyone. The service apart from the time-wait was excellent though...waitress came to the table to take our order rather than us going en masse to the bar....anything we asked for...condiments etc were brought quickly...would definitely go back but maybe in a smaller group x
Nice friendly staff, comfy room, food was good with a choice from the board specials too, I'd happily go back
Good food, comfortable rooms, good choice of beers. Had a fantastic stay here for a friend's wedding.
Booked it last minute en route, for £35 Inc breakfast for a twin room too, surprised me that, expected to pay a lot more, lodge had recently been refurbished to a high standard was clean and comfortable shower room was OK, bed was comfortable, very handy for tourist routes etc evening meal was cooked to order and bar prices weren't excessive like other hotels that rip u off .
6 of us for an early Xmas dinner. The conservatory where we were seated was freezing. No waitress service to take the order. I had to order at the bar. Couldn't fault the food but for what we paid I would have expected a better service.
Cheap accommodation at the lodges, smoking as well, comfortable basic good telly, good 4g signal great value. Also includes full breakfast.
Room was freezing with inadequate heater and no back up available. Also, there was a fire alarm panel which was showing a fault in the portacabin block we were in, which let out a very loud high-pitched buzz every few minutes, all day and all night long. When brought to the attention of the receptionist, all I got in reply was "it shouldn't be doing that".
