Wellgate Shopping Centre

Could do with a face lift but definitely my preferred place to park in the city.

Think there's everything under one roof here and if not the high street is just outside. There are three shopping centres all within walking distance.

A joke of customer service. Trying to get out of Wellgate car park and have been told that I would not be eligible for change for my parking which was a grand total of £2. No problem with the fact that they have a rule in place which states any charges under £5 would need to be paid for in coins not notes. This is not the issue. I had a £10 note and when I went to change it in the change machine there was a notice saying "Out of Service". I've called for assistance on the intercom and been told that I need to go and source change from one of the shops. I've gone into the shops and I've been told sorry we don't give change unless you make a purchase. I then had some big man upstairs come down and tell me that they don't carry change and I need to source this elsewhere since he's not letting me out unless I pay. Bearing in mind that this machine would not give me any of my change and I would be paying 5 times as much for parking and should their facilities have been working rather than "Out of Service" then none of this would have been an issue.
It's not a customers responsibility to maintain your facilities, nor should they have to be inconvenienced or pay the cost for it. If you offer a facility to support a rule that you put in place then it is your responsibility and generally good customer service to then be able to amend it and at least be mildly apologetic for the inconvenience, instead of rude and unhelpful to the extent that you aren't even willing to provide your name and take responsibility, not only for the actions of the facility that you're working in, but for the words that come out of your mouth.
This review isn't about £2, this review is about common courtesy, and maybe taking a little more interest in the staff that you hire, and the training you offer, in securing an establishment that provides a good level of customer service to the people who pay you.

Good mixture of big brand shops and smaller names, good selection of food outlets and gadget shops. Well arrived by public transport. Clean and bright shopping centre

Great place to shop. More shops would be good. Lower rates so it's more appealing to potential vendors

I enjoy the variety of shops and the value they offer

Stupip how the elevators never work. Also the security/staff seem unhelpful. Iv seen many times a old guy struggling in a wheel chair pushing it with his foot to get around while staff just look at him shouldn't they help him !! Makes me Very sad to see. Other than these I enjoy the wellgate and the shops.

Grear shopping center but could be even better if they keep developing it.
