Wellybooters Description
Wellybooters offers outdoor activity sessions for children in and around Peebles in the Scottish Borders. All sessions are run by Catherine, a primary teacher with significant experience of teaching young children in an outdoor setting.
The Wellybooter children will be involved in lots of activities, all of which are great fun and will ensure your child does not lose their sense of adventure and wonder! The activities include: making mud pies, going on scavenger hunts, looking for bugs, making leaf crowns, following animal tracks, orienteering and building dens.
On a personal level, I passionately believe that children need to engage with the natural world through play, be exposed to the elements and be allowed the freedom to work out how to assess risks for themselves. I don't believe we do our children any favours in the long run by wrapping them in cotton wool and I want to give the Wellybooters the freedom and opportunity to play in the natural world and get muddy!
