West Lothian has been awarded £2. 17 million for community led local development in rural West Lothian.
LEADER is part of the Scottish Rural Development Programme delivering support for rural communities through implementing a Local Development Strategy.
The aim of LEADER is to increase the capacity of local rural communities and business networks. It aims to build knowledge and skills; and encourage innovation and co-operation in order to tackle local development objectives.
LEADER supports innovative and original projects which are driven and run by local communities, businesses and organisations.
West Lothian LEADER will be funding projects under the following themes:
 Theme 1: Well-Connected Communities
 Theme 2: Stronger Communities
 Theme 3: Improved Local Environment
We are also supporting Farm Diversification and Rural Businesses.
