Westend Hair

Could not be happier with my experience at this salon! I went there not really knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my hair, but Gary was really helpful in suggesting options and did such an amazing job! The atmosphere is very welcoming and cosy, the staff are lovely, and time passed by so quickly due to the entertaining stories Gary told. I was very happy with the end result and will definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a great salon in Glasgow!

Wonderful experience at the Westend hair salon - fabulous wash, cut and blow dry from Matthew but all members of staff I dealt with were fabulous. Highly recommend!

Carolyn Dobson, is without a doubt the hair stylist I have been waiting for my whole life! Her approach to hair and finding the right way of cutting your hair, its thickness, its waves, its natural quirks is unique whilst making utter sense and being a very clever down to earth way of approaching hair. She is a wonder! Rather than having little losing battles with my hair and making do, I really enjoy my hair now and receive compliments and whispered queries as to the secret, all the time!

I have been to Carolyn at Westend Hair for about four or five different appointments – and I've come away so happy each time! I've been on a bit of a "hair journey," if you will, for the past year or so. Carolyn has been so wonderful throughout this process of finding a cut that works well for my hair type and styling preferences (Carolyn's work is pictured in both of these photos).

When I first came to her, I had long, limp hair that hung past my shoulders. The first major cut is pictured in this first photo; Carolyn gave me SUCH a chic long bob that worked well with the natural waves in my hair. She also put panels of light color through my hair to really bring out the shape of this great style – SO LOVELY.

A few months later, I returned to Carolyn for another drastic hair transformation! I decided to go for a pixie cut, and I am so glad that I went to Carolyn for this big change. Again, she was able to give me a style that worked well for MY hair, and suited ME. I have never gotten a better haircut in my life!

John is an excellent hairdresser and a great conversationalist. Always a pleasure to go there.

When I first met Carolyn Dobson she was working in Vidal Sassoon in Princes Square as a cutting specialist under the name of Lyn. She is a superb cutter and stylist and an excellent colourist. I have complete trust in her judgment and skill. Over the years she has kept my look fresh and complimentary. N.

She is an expert on colour (does a beautiful natural blonde, which I love) and always makes my hair look stylish and contemporary. I will be back again soon !

Had a wonderful experience at Westend Hair salon! Lovely staff and the service was super good! I had asked for a balayage and Gary did an amazing job. I was really happy with the final colour! While getting my hair done I felt so encouraged to get a haircut but I was short on time so im definitely planning to go back! Not to forget that they serve the best Moroccan tea there!

I met with a friend a few years ago who had a new hair cut which I really liked. It was fun and creative and stylish, while also being classic and contemporary .... and practical and naturally easy to wear. Above all it totally suited her personality and life style. So of course I asked who was the Genius who had cut her hair !! She then told me about a hairdresser called Carolyn, who was so passionate about her work, loved what she did so much and was so talented, that she had totally transformed not just my friends hair style and 'look' , but also her experience of what a really good haircut could do for her confidence and self image. She finally felt as if she now looked on the outside, how she felt on the inside. Since then Carolyn has of course become my hairdresser. She understands not just my hair but me, and I feel she listens intelligently to my own views about what I want, while also having a wonderful ability to 'see' what is going to work. She probably does herself no favours by cutting so well that I sometimes can go for 6 months continually enjoying the way a cut is growing , not out , but more 'in' to something that often gets better and better. Carolyn has a great sense of style, and I would say is a very experienced hairdresser who I would recommend without hesitation.

Absolute best! Didn't know what to expect but Westend Hair was simply great. Warm and welcoming and friendly and professional, it had the whole lot. It's really hard to know which hairdresser to go for sometimes but I can honestly say that this place is perfect in my eyes. I left with a really super hair cut exactly the way I wanted (after a lot of guidance from the team) and FEELING good about myself. What more can you ask for? :D

First went to Carolyn a couple of years ago when I needed someone to sort a terrible haircut!! She did a brilliant job and I've been going back ever since. Nothing is too much bother for her even when I go in with pics that are really three different haircuts but I want to look like an amalgamation of them all!! She's very accommodating and will do her best to fit you in to her busy schedule. Highly recommend!!
