Drone footage from Raymond hosie shows the rip perfectly at westport at the moment. In the good weather stay safe. Go to the top of the big dune and look for the rip.
Do you think we should have a toilet block at westport??? Have your say in the comments below. Your opinion would be something we could use in on going talks.

Thanks to Laggan community council ( Machrihanish) for paying for the portaloo at westport till the end of September!!!!
Portaloo will be taken away this weekend. Hopefully we will have a meeting soon, to arrange /discuss a more permanent solution. Keep a eye on page for details of this, if you would like to attend.
Someone has smashed up and burnt the bench at westport car park. It's because of actions like this we cannot have facilities at westport!!!!!
Machrihanish/Westport water quality rated as excellent.

Westport beach just wow, very much like being in Cyprus on a hot day, to say we have this on our doorstep is just amazing, to be able to keep our young ones going for hours without any worries as they loved this place so much and didnt want to leave without promising to come back when its sunny again 😉my daughter of 7 prefers this to the zoo and for us brilliant and what I loved was the fact there was no shops, cafe's so deffo bring your own food and drink and there is a toilet near the car park so bonus. wonderful day out in the rain as well 💜

Stunner of a beach. Unspoilt and open aspect. Can be wild. Beautiful in all it's moods. Probably my favourite painting inspiration.
So much fun with kids - dunes are awesome for sledging. Views from the top spectacular.
Our dog loved it, clean, easy to walk on, had the whole place too ourselves yesterday morning x
One of the best stretches of beach in Kintyre. The regular beach cleans and many sensible users keep it this way for all to enjoy.
Miss it every day! Always go there and Bellochantuy when I'm home.
Miles of lovely sand and the most fabulous views. The sand dunes are huge and great fun to sledge down !!

I go there regularly and you can't beat it! Some stunning sunsets there too!

Great for Surfing, Solid beach break all year round.
Great beach , camping in the dunes, driftwood fires and the Cooncil put a Portaloo in the car park from Easter to October Week, so you don't have to wander off with a trowel....
Beautiful beach. Clean and so peaceful. Only complaint is no dog poop bins. Love my walks along the beach �
Awsome, never more than a handful of people at anyone time .3km of clean sand and great waves...

Although it's stunning to look at, try sprinting up them for football training, hell on earth, but it sorted the men out from the boy's!!!!!
