Wild Lochaber

About Wild Lochaber

From the highest mountain to the deepest loch, there is nowhere in Europe that can surpass Lochaber, for it's iconic features, wildlife and wild places.

Wild Lochaber Description

Welcome to the 2016 Wild Lochaber Festival, and what better place to experience all that Scotland has to offer for the lover of the outdoors than Lochaber? Here you can spot all of Scotland’s “Big Five” species – otter, golden eagle, red deer, harbour seal and red squirrel
– surely one of the few places in Scotland where this can be achieved.
The Festival is intended to showcase the fabulous environment we enjoy locally, and perhaps take for granted, as well as all
the many nature-related activities that take place each year in this beautiful part of the West
Highlands. From mountains to the sea Lochaber enjoys a wonderful variety of habitats and this
diversity is reflected in the creatures that live here.
The wildlife of Lochaber is one of Scotland’s best kept secrets. Where else in Scotland could you
watch otters playing in the morning, take a boat trip to see whales, dolphins and basking sharks and
sea eagles during the day and enjoy seeing pine martens feed in the evening?

Visit the website to view the whole programme with more than 40 events and workshops, accommodation, food & drink and much more.
