Woodend BLTC AGM 7.30pm 29 January 2019.
Dear Member,
I hope this notice finds you well and firstly let me wish you all the best for 2019 and beyond.
... I am writing to you today on behalf of Woodend BLTC Committee of Management (COM) so as to invite you to this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 29th January at 7.30pm.
The meeting will be held at Woodend BLTC where the bar will be open for refreshments. The agenda is outlined below.
The AGM allows you, as a valued member, to be updated on key happenings and developments in the club within the last year, as well as to be appraised of the direction the club is heading.
Most importantly, it allows you cast a vote on electing your club representatives and any other key decisions discussed so as to help steer the direction of our great club.
At the time of writing I would like to announce that the COM have taken to decision to freeze all subscription rates for the forthcoming year.
This will reviewed throughout the year to ensure that not only the financial stability of our club is maintained, but that we strive to adhere to our vision:
“Woodend BLTC hopes to optimise the experiences of all its members. The COM will always aim to make the club better than its existing state and provide a vibrant club that is a daily hive of activity. We aim to be a ‘local neighbourhood hub’ that welcomes and caters for everyone- regardless of age, sex, or ability. We will maintain the highest quality of facilities, whilst maintaining financial stability so asto ensure longevity. This will hopefully give members a feeling of belonging and pride of being part of the clubs successes.”
Whilst it is a necessity that we obtain a quorum of at least 30 members for the meeting to preside we hope that as many members will attend as possible. A greater attendance allows for fairer representation of the opinions and values of our members.
It should be noted that all adult members are entitled to attend/vote from both bowling and tennis sections.
Social members are welcome to attend and participate in discussions but constitutionally are unable to vote.
I look forward to hopefully seeing you on the 29th.
Kind regards,
Ryan MacLeod Secretary Woodend BLTC

Woodend Juniors Xmas 2018 Panto Trip
A huge thanks to the record breaking 54 juniors and family members who came along to the Woodend Bowling Juniors annual end of season trip to the Pantomine last week and facepainter Susan from “Your Sonsie Face”
It was a great way to finish off a fantastic year for the juniors with many successes along the way including a Junior Mens 2018 Champion and Vice Presidents Champion In 17 year old Callum Mackinnon and a juniors runner up in the 2...018 Ladies Championship with Jennifer Gillespie
We also had an ex Woodend Junior ”grown up” Ross McIlroy capped 9 times this season for the Glasgow Bowling Association Under 25 Squad and were delighted to see our junior membership expand with the recruitment of many new players including Scottish Internationalist Michelle Sloan’s younger brother and sister Joseph and Grace who joined the Juniors at Woodend during the 2018 season having attended some of our indoor sessions at Whiteinch IBC during the last couple of years.
A huge thanks to all the coaches and volunteers who have helped during this and all the previous years. It’s been a phenomenal achievement this year to bring in 23 new adult, junior and family members into the club and we are already very excited about all the opportunities there will be for people in the local community to come in and play bowls during the coming 2019 season.
See you all in 2019 and have a wonderful Xmas !!
It’s great to be part of this growing community and we’re loving every minute of it. #WeAreWoodend #MoreThanJustAClub #KidsAreTheFuture
