Mortar skew hacked out and replaced with a code 5, 300mm lead watergate and over flashing. Original skew had been ‘fixed’ on many occasions but constantly needing re done time and time again. We offered the best solution, total replacement of the mortar skew with a new lead watergate which will last a life time and give our customer piece of mind. Another job completed on a lovely little cottage house 🔨

A scotch strip and re slate well underway for us in Kirkliston. A tired old roof with persistent leaks and in need of constant repair has finally come to the end of its life. Full roof is being stripped back to the sarking boards, fixing a new breathable membrane to full roof area and re dressing all existing scotch slate ready to be re slated on to roof area. We are also fixing a new lead flashing to wall head and around chimney base. Looking forward to the finish on this one 🔨

Some pictures of our latest completed roof project for KS Building & Property Services on their new extension in Edinburgh. Full installation of roof using 16x10 Spanish slates along with all new guttering fitted around full extension. On this project we also fitted 2 Velux sun tunnels to gain natural light in original bathroom and kitchen. Also fitted were Velux windows, lead works, zinc works, roof vents and mac flashings. Roof works completed for our friends at KS Property Maintenance & Building Services at their ongoing attic conversion at Merchiston Grove, Edinburgh. 150mm insulation installed and then over laid with a 2 layer felt system finished in a charcoal 4mm IKO felt. 5 velux windows installed, 3 to the rear elevation and 2 to the front along with Ubbink UB11 roof vents on both elevations. New lead flashings installed along with Mac flashes for vent pipes around property. Another great production of workmanship from the guys 👍🔨

Another garage/porch flat roof area completed by the guys yesterday. Eddie and Andy stripped and re felted this with a 3 layer IKO felt system in one day at Echline View, South Queensferry. Just the lead flashing to install today around the edging and we have another 5 ⭐️ job one of our clients. Always happy with how much pride the guys take in their work ☺️ top finish as usual, well done fellas🔥

A small exterior painting job completed in Edinburgh. Our client wanted their old and tired stone sills and surrounds looking fresh again so got us in to help give a fresh look to the front of their property. Sanded down and prepped to then be painted with 2 coats of a mustard yellow. It’s great what a nice lick of paint can do for your property 😇

A chimney re harling contract completed today by Eddie and Andy at Allan Park Gardens, Edinburgh. Previous granite render had failed over time so needed to be stripped right back and re harled with 2 coats of sand and cement buff back drop to then be finished with an ‘amber’ chip to match the exterior of the 4 in a block properties. Extra wee touch from the guys to finish a smooth band of render around the coping stone with the buff tones mortar just giving it that nice finishing touch. Great job as always. An aged and very worn flat roof replaced with a 3 layer IKO felt system and a new code 5 lead flashing installed opposed to the original failed mortar flashing. On this particular extension we also renewed the guttering and downpipe along with painting the facias right around extension with 3 coats of white gloss paint. This job was at Clermiston, Edinburgh 🔨🔥

A single ply flat roof on to 150mm insulation completed over the weekend on a newly constructed dormer for our friends at KS Property Maintenance & Building ongoing renovation/loft conversion. On to the vents/lead work/ velux this coming week 🔨

Previous work to full Harling of property was never done to a good finish at all. Especially the back elevation which was ‘boss’ and full of cracks with terrible patches in it. Ourselves came recommended to this client to re do their back elevation that was letting damp in to the property. Stripped back to the brick work, scratch coat applied, then harled with an amber chip on to a buff toned mortar mix. Client happy as ever and looking to invite us back to re harl the full property to a first class finish 🤝

A wee revamp to a very problematic dormer completed today at Morningside. Constant water ingress to this property from this dormer needed a change. Existing roof removed and replaced with new sarking boards, tile battens, felt changed to breathable membrane and new tiles installed. Guttering system removed, re routed and up graded with a deep flow black upvc rowan and downpipes taking all water flow to the main guttering. Existing watergates removed and replaced with code 5 lead watergates and skews renewed with sand, lime and cement mortar mix coatings. Back tomorrow for the second coat of mortar with some small touch ups for completion. Great work as always 🔥

Some recent works on loft conversions completed for our builders friends at KG Joinery & Building and KS Property Maintenance & Building Services. Our first project at Riselaw Terrace, Edinburgh, consisted of lead watergates & flashings and Rosemary tiling of a newly constructed dormer for KG’s ongoing renovation project. For KS we installed 3 velux windows along with 32 Ubbink UB11 vents at their conversion on Hopetoun Terrace, Gullane. Been a busy couple of weeks for the squad along with all our on going repair and renewal works 🔨

A flat roof extension stripped and re felted within one day (8am-5:30pm) with a 3 layer torch on IKO felt system by Eddie, Dave and Billy at Musselburgh. Our new felting works come with a written 30 year guarantee upon completion. Another great finish by the guys and as always, another happy customer who has hired us for further works. Persistently damp boundary wall becoming more and damaged over time and previous repairs failing by the month. Not a problem for us here at Worlds End. Wall stripped back to original brick work and coping stones removed, full wall tanked with bitumen coating, damp proof membrane fix to full wall, coping stones relayed and full wall harled with 2 coats of sand and cement with a 6mm granite chip. 30 year guarantee provided for works and peace of mind of customer. Another one done and dusted for our lovely customers in Linlithgow who couldn’t been more polite and accommodating with tea and cake. Full inclusion of lead watergates, lead flashings, dry fixed ridges and verges, upvc guttering and retiling of side panel of existing property along with the fixture of tiles to new roof area 🔨✅

6mm granite chip harling finished today for a client of ours new extension in Livingston. Just to be painted now to match the rest of the property ✅

The finished result of our recent house re harling project. All old render stripped back to the brick work and re harled with an ‘amber’ chip that included a mortar tone of ‘buff’ in our mortar backdrop. All guttering painted with black gloss and window surroundings, door surround as well, with a magnolia masonry paint. Our customer and myself delighted with the end result 😊✅

Some before, during and after pictures of a recent small project carried out of a garden wall refurbishment. Old brick wall with no coping and brick work that had been painted red had left the garden area looking rather dull. With a simple grey flat coping stone and a ‘durite’ chip finish applied to all wall faces our wonderful customer was delighted with the result 🌝🌺
