Wreckspeditions Description

My passion is diving. I love it. I would do it all day every day if I didn't have to work. I am always looking for new sites and areas to dive and I am forever dragging my dive buddies to remote places, up mountains, scrabbling down cliffs, driving to the ends of the earth, just to get a dive in. So, when my other half suggested combining both these aspects and buying a boat to run a diving expeditions business. . . . . . I didn't have to think about it for too long!

Jason is mad about all things boats. His boats are like his man cave!

I do love my boats, I really do. I have been driving boats all my working life and around 6 years ago I stumbled across a group of these "Scuba Divers". I met Claire soon after this and realised how passionate she was about diving and how adamant she was to get me into a drysuit! ! I have now been diving for a few years and really enjoy it but my love still lies with boats and now we have our own charter, we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do. I will gladly take you all out to sites and drop you in to play every day : )

A great rhib ride this morning out to the Sugar wreck with this lovely bunch, lots of military vessels, cormorants, arctic tern and gannets, no porpoise however (prob due to military vessels) 😞
A lovely couple of hours getting to know these guys and a happy birthday again Fiona from Argyll Cruising I am so glad I could help you out at short notice πŸ˜€πŸ‘
Now it's off diving up loch goil....and what a day it's turning out to be 🌀️🌀️🌀️

Morning everyone, what a beautiful day it is today! You can almost smell the Summer 😎
We thought it would be a cool idea to start telling all of our visiting divers and non divers what this side of the Clyde has to offer, both outdoors and indoors so you can plan some activities for your next visit to us πŸ˜€
And so we start our weekly "Things to do in Dunoon" section
... 1. Castle House Museum and Gardens
The Castle House Museum in Dunoon sits in the heart of Dunoon with the most spectacular views up and down the Clyde.
The gardens themselves are well worth the visit alone, and then enter the museum to learn all about the vast history connected with the area from Ancient Clan Wars, to Maritime Heritage and everything in between.
For you divers visiting the area, the museum holds some really cool artifacts found around the shores here, which are still being found to this day.
So next time you come over and visit for a few days, we definitely recommend making a wee stop of here, especially on a day like today πŸŒ…πŸ˜€πŸ‘ Castle House Museum

Another great day out on the Clyde with a mix of GUE and local divers who had planned for the SS Wallachia and got it, however it was a bit disappointing with 3-4m vis and bitty....then we opted for the Greenock as second dive, diving 3hrs after LW expecting some current divers were pleased with a lovely slack dive with up to 5m vis and lots of light and things to see including massive clumps of jewel anemones. Great finish to the day!

Today marks the 100 years since the scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet in Scapa Flow.
For all my non diving buddies who are maybe unaware of this, the Germans deliberately sunk 52 of their own ships as to avoid them being taken taken by Allied Forces, and to restore some honour after their loss. This was 7 months after the end of WW1 and at a time when peace talks were meant to conclude.
This was a day that saw the final losses of WW1. βŒ›πŸ³οΈ

We have had a cracking couple of days out on the Clyde with dives on the Wallachia (2-3m Vis) Anemone Garden (5-6m Vis) Akka (6-7m vis) and the wonderful MV Averella with over 10m Vis 😍😍
A massive thank you again to Scott and Alison from West Coast Diving who took me out for a very rare dive on their boat up to the Averella. These pics below were taken by ÁgΓΊst, our Icelandic mate who is a belter with a lense!! πŸ‘

If you are planning on coming diving with us in the Clyde and opt to stay on the East side of the water then one of your options for air fills will be Aquatron Dive Centre
Only a 35min drive from Inverkip Marina, their fills are very well priced with a quick turnaround even when filling multiple cylinders (and don't worry, they will make sure your tanks are topped up proper πŸ‘Œ) The shop is well laid out offering a whole manner of shiny dive equipment and they also do Cylinder testing and suit repairs.
The staff here are brilliant, always smiling and on hand to help out whenever needed. There is a link to them on our website, so go and check them out next time you are diving this way πŸ‘πŸ˜€

We had a fantastic weekend with the Robin Hood Dive Club Group with some great diving had. The visibility is certainly on the up again with 4-5m on the Akka and around 6-7m on the Wallachia with lots of ambient light, allowing divers to properly explore this superb wreck.
The rain may have been torrential, and winds swirling but it didn't put this group off, smiling all day long and some great banter had with some old and new faces alike πŸ˜€
The weather today is scorching β›…β›… an...d we head back to the Akka tonight!
Thanks everyone for a cracking weekend, have a great season, stay safe and will see you all again next time πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜€
