Great place to visit lots of walks and superb wildlife.
Thoroughly enjoyed the visit. A well organised friendly site. Access for all with an excellent cafe/eatery. Plenty of bird watching .
Always something interesting going on. And a great cafe with home made cakes to die for.
The wildlife is magnificent. That's a given. The staff really impressed me though. They were friendly, knew their stuff and were able to be as involved (or not) in your visit as you wanted them to be.
One of my favourite places to visit. I used a photo of the barnacle geese on the Solway Firth here, taken by local amateur photographer, Mark Chambers, for my book cover. A stunning location with some gorgeous sights by the waterside at dawn and dusk.
A 'wild' nature reserve, none of the captive residents at some sites. Excellent in winter to see the massed swans. Worth a walk at other times for real bird spotting - luck of the draw what happens along...
Fantastic in winter when you can see migrating birds from the Arctic.
Always a brilliant place to visit. Even if it's raining, there are loads of hides to go in out of the rain. The bird life is abundant and easy to see and study their behaviour. In summer, although the geese and swans have returned to their breeding grounds, there is still a lot to see. The cafe produce is fresh and delicious. Top entertainment!
Excellenet WWT site. Visited In December and managed Green Winged-Teal. The sound of a few thousand Barnacle Geese warms your cockles. The site manager was very informative as he fed the Whooper swans. Thank you
