Friendly place but very over priced for mediocre food.

Delicious food and with spectacular views if you can get seated at a table next to a window. We came for lunch (the prices are a bit lower compared to dinner) and the service was fast. Apparently it can get very busy in the evening so book ahead if you're coming later.

There's not a massive choice of dishes but there is still a decent variety. I shared the fish and chips, mushroom soup and vegetarian tapas with my friend and they were all extremely tasty.

The meals were delicious. Especially their hot chocolate fudge cake. It is right now in my personal Top 5 of desserts I have ever had.

Amazing food! We'd heard rave reviews of Yan's Kitchen and decided to stop by and check out the menu before deciding when to eat there. Liking the look of the lunch menu we went back the next day.

I had Yan's Special Burger from the specials board, a beef burger with bacon and cheese, served with chips and coleslaw for £11.50 I couldn't believe how big it was when it was served, great portion size for the price! The beef burger was succulent and tasty, and came with a nice amount of gherkins, which I love, but if not to your taste I'm sure they'd leave them out, or they can easily be removed as they're at the bottom.

The restaurant isn't huge but the seating was comfortable and with reasonable spacing between tables. When we went it wasn't too busy, but I'd imagine it getting busier in peak season, so would recommend booking a table then.

There is also outdoor seating, should you prefer this or have a dog with you, you just need to pay at the bar when ordering.

The view from the restaurant is spectacular, out across the bay.

Finally there are baby changing facilities in the ladies toilets, which were well laid out.

Had Caesar salad starter for a light bite, it was huge! Nice quiet spot for lunch right on the sea edge. Reasonable prices too, and food was amazing.

We were a little skeptical of a place called Yan's Kitchen in the very Scottish Islay, but we went for it and were rewarded extremely well. We all ordered the catch of the day and it was some of the best fish I have ever had. Yan even came out of the kitchen to see how we liked our meal and when he found we were from San Diego he jumped at the chance to speak Spanish with us. Yan grew up in Barcelona and learned to cook tapas style there. He brought that finesse to Islay and found the abundance of sea food welcome along with the charm of Islay. We came back a second night for dinner and were impressed yet again. Great food, friendly staff, and reasonably priced. I'm getting a craving just writing this review.

Nice food, warm welcome, excellent location. The seafood is good.

Went to Yans for dinner based on recommendations. Was not disappointed.

Seafood was fresh and very well prepared. They also had a selection of other appetizers in platters (non seafood if you're so inclined).

Service was excellent. Met the owner (Yan) and he's a very nice and personable guy. He also runs the sea salt bistro in Port Ellen.
