3 months of this one ☝️ kicking butt at every turn, no wonder she looks pleased with herself 💪
Liliana made a record breaking* recovery from her second surgery and was home just two days later - boom 💥 The only thing close to being as impressive as our girl has been the beyond wonderful hospital staff. Grateful doesn’t come close to explaining how we feel, our NHS is amazing please please please let it stay this way 🙏
*no records were actually checked but surely right...?

💐First Mother’s Day with my daughter 💐
💞 While we try to teach our children all about life they teach us what life is all about. This little one has taught me lots already! 💞

Happy Mother’s Day whatever it means to you and yours and especially to those of you who find the day challenging 💗 I was awake early this morning feeding my girl and felt a heaviness I wasn’t expecting. The date meant more to me this year as it was a date I had given myself when Liliana was in the NICU, a time in the distant future when I allowed myself to hope things might be better. Things are and I am immensely grateful however my head and heart are full of thoughts of th...ose Tiger Mamas with their little ones in hospital today. You may feel like you are on the side lines putting your trust in others to care for your precious baby but know you are a huge part of their strength. I wish I could tell you all everything will be ok soon but I can’t and no one can but you CAN do this, somehow you will find strength you never knew you had. Your babies are fighting and you are fighting with them. I see you, I feel for you I am you. I hope you find a way to wear those stripes with pride 🙏

9 days ago, the longest 9 days of my life so far, our beautiful baby girl was born. Liliana Sofia Lynn Porrelli arrived 22/01/19 weighing 8lbs 7, a true Aquarian born in water. I have shared so much of my life and pregnancy I feel it is right I also share where we are now.
Liliana had some complications with her tummy which were quickly identified and required an operation. She is still recovering from the surgery in hospital and a further surgery will be required so we won...’t have her home for some time. To say I’m in bits doesn’t come close. Heartbroken as I am that things are so far from how I imagined I am thankful her little body is responding. And for Leo who has been a shining star through so much darkness making sure we stay strong for his little sister. We have been so touched by the support and love shown from family and friends.
Praying for better days to come and more positive news to share x

🍏Thank you to who ever gave me this #lifehack 🙏 Give a toddler an apple - get 15 min of peace (ok and a soggy jumper but still) 🍏
Also, are apple cores bad for you?... asking for a friend 🤭

💞Not long now till I get to meet my sweet little baby girl 💞
💗Second time around pregnancy has definitely been a different experience. I feel much more relaxed and confident (AND TIRED) but sometimes a little guilty I haven’t spent the same amount of time planning and day dreaming about the little person about to become such a BIG part of my life 💗
💞Although we have been talking about you every day, reading books to your bro so he is ready to be the best big brother. Today was extra special, just all about you baby girl (ok and a little bit about me and cake) You have an AWSOME tribe waiting excitedly to meet you already and I can’t wait to introduce you to them all - thank you again ladies 💗

Interesting post from @positivelybirthing with @get_repost ・・・ Vaginal examinations - did you have them? Did it help or hinder your progress? . VEs are something you may be offered during labour, but in fact aren’t a ‘required’ part of giving birth. A vaginal examination usually involves you lying down and a midwife or doctor inserting two fingers into your vagina to feel your cervix. This gives them a snap shot of what your cervix looks like at that moment in time (how dila...ted it is as well as it’s position and what it feels like), and also sometimes allows us to gather information about baby’s position and presentation. What they can’t be used for is a predictive tool as to what your cervix will look like in an hour’s time! There are times where a vaginal examination can be a helpful tool, and times when it can potentially do more harm than good, and they are therefore something you might like to have a think about before labour itself! . You have three main options if you’re putting VE’s into your birth plan- either ‘I would prefer to have no examinations in labour’, ‘I am happy to have VEs when clinically indicated’ or ‘I am happy to have routine VEs’ (which on a labour ward is usually every four hours.) . What it’s important to consider is the impact both the process of being examined and the information gained will have on your labour. If you find laying on your back an uncomfortable position and don’t find the examination itself very ‘relaxing’, this may be a trigger for Adrenalin, which can impact the physiological process of birth. If you are told a ‘number’ and it’s not what you want to hear, what may that do to your emotions, and your decision making from them onwards? (This can work both ways of course.) . If you’ve given birth, did you have them? What would you do if you did it all again? (If it helps.. I did have them.. the 2cm announcement was the worst news I’ve heard in all my life, but the 8cm announcement was the boost I needed to get through to the end! And incidentally I was 2cm for about 3 days.. and dilated the last 8 in about 5 hours.. see what I mean about prediction!)

📚Reflecting on a year well read 📚When I was a kid I devoured books but I stopped, not sure when or why. Aside from the odd holiday read books just didn’t make it on to the priority list. A change in career seems to have reignited the fire and I added these to the bookshelf this year 😊 (yes there is a theme). Always love a book recommendation but a bit embarrassed to give them myself so have a gander if you like PM me I’ll tell you more... With baby girl due any day now not sure how much reading 2019 has in store but I hope I can keep it going! ✌️

🌟What a journey 2018 has been. This time last year I was full of dread, thinking about returning to a job I knew wasn’t for me and leaving my baby boy after a wonderful year on maternity leave. I could never have imagined what gifts 2018 had in store! I have learned so much, met some inspiring people and received the most amazing news that we will soon have another addition to the family - can’t wait to meet you baby girl! 💫
So however you are feeling about the year ahead - know that it is YOURS, go get it, who knows where you might end up ✌️💗

Taking some of my own advice (see previous post ➡️) and slowing down to appreciate a frosty game of hide and seek with this one and a great illustration from my guru that our little people literally follow in our footsteps. Less presents more present this Christmas. The to-do list can wait 💙
🌟Extra reward was seeing a certain someone 🎅 driving a refuse truck 🚛, great work @east_dunbartonshire - as if the man doesn’t have enough to do 😂

#AND one for the girls.... (also DO download the Squeezy App!)
Repost @stockbridgeosteopathy with @get_repost ・・・ #PelvicAdvent Day 23: If all else fails press the magic button. I love the fact that I get to tell women to press their clitoris. I get some great reactions.... . It would be fun to end the post there and leave you guessing at where this is going (and maybe what kind of Osteopath I am), but there is good reasoning behind this advice. . Look at the picture I have chosen for this post (from the @SqueezyApp – you should recognize it). What is this woman doing? What do all those little girls and boys, and grown men and women do when they desperately need the loo? . Cross their legs, lean forwards, do a little dance, hang on to their bits. . This puts pressure on the clitoris or end of the penis, which stops the urge to pee. Why does this work? Because if you were to have sex, you wouldn’t want to pee at the same time. The body has it sorted. . Sooooo, you can use this to your advantage. Ever been so desperate to go as you get your key out to unlock the door, or feel a sneeze or cough coming and leak a little? If you know it’s coming you can prepare 😉. . In a public place? No sweat! Just cross your legs, lean forwards and find something very interesting on your shoe. If all else fails, you’ve now got it covered. . #pelvicadvent #womenshealth #squattypotty #pelvicpower #sneezepee #runpee #incontinence #pantsnotpads #painfulsex #pelvicpain #pelvicfloor #squat #pelvicfloorexercises #kegels #pelvicfloordysfunction #pelvichealth #pelviccongestionsyndrome #prolapse #diastasisrecti #fertility #infertility #sports #fitness #exercise #clitoris #stockbridgeosteopathicpractice #osteopathy #osteopathyworks

Perfect way to get back into practice after having my wee boy. The baby yoga is a special way to connect with him and also having him help me with my poses adds an extra dimension to my yoga! Lyndsey is a lovely teacher and makes for a really relaxed enjoyable class. The tea and cake afterwards is a real bonus!
