Zakros Description
Gyros is one of the most popular street foods in Greece and for good reason. Its stuffed with well cooked and seasoned meat, garnished with a cooling tzatziki sauce, wrapped in a delicious crispy pita, naan, chips, rice, salad and best of all? It tastes like heaven! The majority of Greeks and especially those from Athens call any type of pita wrapped meat a gyros, specifying the type of meat and method of roasting separately. For example Gyros with chicken, lamb Gyros or Souvlaki etc.
This Gyros recipe can actually be a very healthy dish if prepared the right way. By using good quality meat for your gyros, low fat yogurt for the tzatziki and avoiding dipping the pita in oil and frying but opting for a healthier baked version instead you can have the full-blown Gyros with Chicken, Lamb gyros experience in less than 270 calories – yes that is less than your average sandwich! That being said, if you feel a little naughty add some extra virgin olive oil to your gyros and enjoy a more street-food like experience.

Went for lunch at Zakros today and loved it. I had a chicken with fruity saffron rice which also came with salad and a refreshing yogurt sauce. Very nice and will deffo recommend to friends. Think it was saffron? Very good none the less.
The food here is amazing. Whenever I'm in town, I'm always there for my dinner. The service here is also excellent. Would highly recommend this place to anybody.

Excellent food and variety of choices. The meat is always cooked prefect and I adore their salad. Even at busy times their service is excellent.
Didn't even know this place properly until a friend showed me this place, I literally go everyday for their food, one of the best places ever to get Chinese food from, the customer service there is great and very welcoming, I will be coming more often, amazing place amazing food
