We just wanted to say thank you to yourself and Glen at The Scott’s Arms for re-educating us on how important a cooker actually is 😀
... We have now had our 990 EL for 18 months and we honestly don’t know how we managed before. I’m not exactly a British Bake off contestant! However, I can now bake the best Yorkshire puddings EVER! They rise and cook to perfection. So much so I reckon I can give anyone a run for their money...
I also baked a birthday cake and even shocked myself. Everything cooks evenly, I don’t have to turn anything round half way through and trust our Esse to do it for us.
Also, before I forget... if you’re ever in the area and fancy some roast potatoes, crispy and fluffy 😊 please feel free to call in.
Plus - We discovered that slumber mode can be turned up and all of a sudden, the central heating is still waiting to be turned on. ‘Estelle’ as I call her, heats our large kitchen, open plan orangery and upstairs all on her own. At the end of October.
We love it, although it took a few months to get used to. So thank you ☺️

Michael & Philippa Vine rear hogget on their farm at The Bluebell Farmhouse Kitchen in East Sussex. Philippa trained at Eastbourne College of Domestic Economy. She appeared on Masterchef in 2001 and was the cookery writer for Farmers’ Weekly for 12 years, championing locally produced and seasonal ingredients. Their passion is food. After falling in love with their ESSE range cooker they were so impressed with how it cooks and produces great dishes every time they want to spread the benefits to other people. Philippa's events are fun, relaxed and welcoming and aimed at everyone who enjoys good food or would like to expand or learn how to use an ESSE cast iron range cooker.
