Hana wrote the script of this exhibition and Karin visualized it.
Things allways have two sides. Things change like shades of the Moon.

Since I came to Berlin in 2015 - on my own and with no family or friends to connect with, I have been walking the streets, meeting new people whilst having a party etc. I have been taking photos of those people. New sights and strangers have become my main theme. Through that I have come to explore the various faces of Berlin. Whether it is a street, park or night scene, it all has proven to be great subjects for my photographs. On this occasion photography represents the con...necting link between the strangers I have encountered and myself. The concept of a stranger is greatly dependent on the concept of interest. The more we allow our knowledge desire to grow, the less strangers become strange to us and we perceive them closer to our reality. The anthropocentric Hide Ota’s approach helps him to take on the challenge of acquiring a "stranger". He refers to this with interest, curiosity and acceptance, making an approach of the stranger much closer than one could ever expect of him. This Japanese artist, at the time of moving to Berlin, became a subject it was the subject of his own search. He stands in the very centre of unknown people and places, he is a stranger himself, and at the same time he examines the strangers surrounding his present reality. In this project, he analyzes his own relationship with people, which he encounters in a European journey, but he also stands at the point where others observe and evaluate him. This means that everyone is a stranger depending on the place, situation and values that he or she holds towards the other stranger. The artist's work obliterates the limits in perceiving other people as "parasites", people who disturb order, disharmonize our space. On the other hand, however,by viewing photographs in a hurry and superficially, we can sense that we have not got rid of stereotypes and prejudices. We catch ourselves in a grid of questions. It can be a personal success to find similarity in these pictures as to the life values between the photographed object - the artist and the viewer.
